Aside from the "typical" sites people have held there ceremonys (as optioned on the Disney weddings website), where else have you gotten married?princess:

I'm not sure if it's on the website (I haven't been on it in a while)

We're holding our ceremony in Japan under the archway. facing Spaceship Earth.

We thought about holding our Ceremony at Studios in front of the Sorcerer's Hat, but our ceremony would have had to been 2-3 hours before park open or 2 hours after park close. Those hours just didn't work for us.

Off the top of my head...

There are two different lawns at BoardWalk Inn that are not widely used. Shipwreck Beach at the Beach Club and the beach adjacent to the Wedding Pavilion are possibilities. And people have had wedding events in various parts of Animal Kingdom, like the Tamu Tamu Courtyard, Tusker House, "The Belvedere" (a covered area off the path between Asia and Africa), and Festival of the Lion King.

There are a lot more venues than Disney advertises, especially inside the theme parks, but it's because the standard venues are easier for DFTW to control. With theme park venues they are at the mercy of theme park management a lot of the time. So if you want to investigate more unusual venues, you sometimes have to come up with them yourself and ask your planner about them.

A good way to get an idea of all the options is to visit the Disney Meetings website and scroll down to click on "Theme Park Venue Map" It's broken out by park and you can click on each site to get more details. Not all the possibilities are listed, but you'll find many that you never knew about.
:thumbsup2

If there is someplace specific you want, ask for it!

We really wanted to have our ceremony in the Library at the Adventurers Club, so we asked if that would be possible (this was before the closing of Pleasure Island was announced, of course). They had to get back to us, but in the end it was less expensive that the Wedding Pavillion and we got to have our ceremony in a place that had a very special meaning to us.

So go for it! The worst that can happen is they tell you it's not possible. The best that can happen is you get the location of your dreams.

Wow! I'm almost afraid to ask how the Adventurer's Club had special meaning (perhaps you went on a safari?) but I'm thrilled it worked out for you guys!

We met at Pleasure Island. Our first date started at the Adventurers Club, and when we moved here in 2004 we became regulars at the club (at least twice a week). We made lots of great friends there.

Our wedding ended up being the day after it closed for good.

But we've got some AMAZING pictures of the club thanks to Randy Chapman!:thumbsup2

Thanks!

And congrats to you. (I'm assuming that you're asking about ceremony sites because you're getting married.)

Thinkin' 'bout it! Yes. As stated, we'll have a max of 100, and I'm looking for venues we won't feel lost in, or have to end by 9am, or start after 7pm.

There are several places that we considered for our reception that might be used for ceremonies.

The Wonders of Life pavillion at Epcot. If your both WDW fans the Prop Shop I'm sure could hold a ceremony. The Oddysey also at Epcot.

Most of the sites we like and will be looking at for our reception we found on the Disney meeting site. I'm sure some could be made into ceremony locations.

Someone mentioned pictures done by the Roots in Tamu Tamu Courtyard...do you know the link where I could see them. Thank you.

Not all of the couple's pictures are public, but there are some good shots of the courtyard in their slideshow - check out the cake table! :cloud9:

Thank you, the cake table is gorgeous. It looks like she had her wedding IN the Tamu Tamu Courtyard and then afterward had her reception there too? What time at night are you allowed to do that? Are you allowed to have Cinderella's Coach here? Thanks.

Their wedding ceremony was held at The Belvedere, which is a little covered patio just off the path between Africa and Asia - sometimes they have characters there signing autographs.

Events have to take place 2 hours after park closing. Cinderella's Coach... now that's a good question. You can have it in Epcot, so it seems like as long as there's a backstage entrance that's convenient, you should be able to have it in AK. I've never seen it at an AK wedding, but that could just be because it doesn't really fit the theme.

You can see the other sites in AK by going to the Disney Meetings website and scrolling down to click on "Theme Park Venue Map" It's broken out by park and you can click on each site to get more details.

Thanks for the meeting site. It was very helpful. Is the covered patio you speak of The Belvedere Palace Ruins? Thank you.
