I did not see a thread on here for the music we are choosing to play at our ceremonies and receptions. I thought it might be a good idea to do a running thread here and let people give their ideas and suggestions.

I have thought about this alot seeing as how I was engaged 5 years ago planned a wedding at it fell through. As I have continued think about what music I would use I have come up with a short list.

Ceremony:
for either the bridal party entrance or my entrance: Across the stars, anakin and padme's love theme- john williams

bride entrance: In my life- the beatles

after couple is announced married: star wars theme song

Reception:
couple's first dance: I see the light- Tangled (our song)

another song we will dance to: can you feel the love tonight- elton john version

mother/ daughter dance: still thinking on this one

ok so now join in on the conversation what are you going to use or what have you used?

Teresa

Now you made me want the darth vader theme for after i get married :thumbsup2

We are using "Married Life" from Up! for the groom and wedding party entry, then I'm walking down the aisle to a metal version of the Bridal March. We are walking out as a married couple to "Moving Right Along" by the Muppets.

Our First Dance is to "Blue Eyes" by Cary Brothers (From the Garden State Soundtrack)

were doin disney piano music for our pre-ceremony music. its from an album called Color, Rhythm and Magic. Second star to the right, bella note, beauty and the beast, a dream is a wish your heart makes, and whole new world is what were doin. There kinda like jazz trio music and I like it better than the guitar stuff on the weddings cd.

The officaint, groomsman and mine entrance will be to Define dancing from Walle.

Bridesmaids and Trace will enter to Somewhere over the rainbow by Isreal Something(hawaiian name).

Recessional will be finale from fantasmic...

No idea about reception music yet...Chris Brown Forever will be played at some point though..lol

For the music played during guests arrival we have:
Glasgow Love Theme
The Princess Diaries Waltz
Can You Feel The Love Tonight

For the mothers/grandmothers enterance:
Clair De Lune

For the groom/groomsmen/officiant enterance:
When you say you love me- Josh Groban

For the Bridesmaids/Maid of Honor and Flower Girl:
I do (Cherish you)- 98*

Bride:
Marry Me- Train

During the sand ceremony:
The Prayer- Ceilon Dion and Andrea Bocelli

For our walk back up the aisle after the cermony:
I do- Colbie Cailait

Our first dance:
Today was a fairytale: Taylor Swift ( we met while on the cp and getting married in disney world... i mean c'mon... lol )

father/daughter:
Butterfly kisses/ymca/the twist/chicken dance mash up

Mother/son:
My Wish- Rascal Flatts

I think that's it :-)

It's on iTunes, that's where I got it from. You can listen to clips on there before you buy

I loved our music selections and people actually told me how great the music was, which made me very happy.

Our songs up until my entrance at the ceremony were by the organist:

Guests entrance: Disney love songs- When you wish upon a star, I'm dreaming, So this is Love, etc.

Grandmothers, mothers: A whole New world

Officiants and Jr. Bridesmaids: Zip a Dee Doo Dah

Groom: Flight (or Ride) of the Valkyries (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sRJNiBgWovo)

Bride: At Last, Etta James. I had them play the whole song so we just waited at the alter for it to end

Recessional: All You Need is Love, Beatles

Reception:
Our Entrance down the ADH Staircase: It Takes Two

First Dance: we did a major dance and had two songs, 45 seconds of each: Herman's Hideaway (for a tango) and Crazy Little Think Called Love by Queen (for a Swing dance)

We did consider Sea of Love by the Honeydrippers for a regular swaying first dance but cut it out.

Father/Daughter Dance: I let my dad pick the song because I know music is just as important to him as it is to me. He found this song about daughters getting married: http://www.new-wedding-traditions.com/daughter.htm

Mother/Son Dance: she picked Circle Of Life

Cake cutting: Grow Old With You from the Wedding Singer (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7CYI5bKZMes&feature=related)

****Side Note: I had no idea about the Chiming of the Bells...I thought it would just be the traditional song. But this Chiming was AMAZING!!!! Meri kept the doors closed until the end and there was so much anticipation and I felt so special when the doors opened! For anyone doing the traditional Bridal March, I definitely reccommend the Chiming of the Bells first!

Ohhhh I haven't even really thought about music yet but thanks for the reminder! Love everyone's ideas though!

I just know for sure I'm wanting to do an instrumental version of So Close from Enchanted as my entrance :)
