Hi all,

We've got most of our Escape planning pack choices sorted, but when it comes to all the ceremony music we're really struggling!

Please share your choices / ideas with us and help us make a decision!!

Incidentally, we're a small party of bride, groom, 2 bridesmaids, best man, 2 groomsmen, 2 sets of parents and the best man's wife, so we probably won't need any full songs, so I presume we could just request a verse and a chorus of each if need be?

We need the traditional sections such as bridesmaids and brides entrance etc. that are on the list and we're having a sand ceremony too, so we also need a piece of music for that.

I think we'll just be using the violinist rather than setting up an ipod or anything, so we're also trying to imagine things that sound good on the violin, but will also likely choose some full tracks for STVS's video.

Thanks everyone, your input is greatly appreciated!!

Sorry I don't have an answer for you just bumping. I just booked an Escape wedding and DF and I were discussing this exact question last night. I have no clue how something will sound on the violin, so I am feeling a little lost.:confused3

Hey hun, how are you?

We are going to have Vivaldi's 4 Seasons (Spring) playing when Tim and my Mom walk in, and continuing same for Dad and me. I might have the Imperial March from Star Wars (Darth Vader's theme) for me and my Dad and not tell Tim because he would just fall about laughing!

We are having You Belong to Me (Shrek) playing during the sand ceremony. For the cake and champagne section, the first song played will be Speak Softly Love (theme to the Godfather as a welcome to the family for Tim lol, but also a beautiful love song) and then whatever Disney songs they want to play. We are going to specifically request Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo (spelling?) because it is the song we hum when we look at past photos and It's a Small World to make people groan!

Oh, just thought. We haven't got anything sorted for us to walk out to - doh!

I've found a brilliant website for sheet music if you need any and they are very reasonable too: www.sheetmusicplus.com

We didn't have a big party so our song selections are the bare minimums.

And we also wanted ALL Disney songs.

Groom Processional: Can you feel the love tonight (Lion King)
Bride Processional: Once upon a dream (Sleeping Beauty)
Recessional: Zip a dee doo dah (Song of the South) - yeah, we're kinda crazy that way;) :rotfl:

We didn't have a first dance but while we did our cake cutting, I requested the violinist play a mix of Disney songs (Belle Notte from Lady and the Tramp, A dream is a wish your heart makes from Cinderella, When you wish upon a star from Pinocchio, etc)

One thing I wanted to let you know is that the solo violin sounds SOOOOOO much better in person and better than what you think it will. I was concerned about that too but really, my concern was unwarranted. I had tried to listen to it on some video samples and thought I would be disappointed...but I wasn't. You will definitely be amazed at how good the violin sounds!!

Hope that helps!

we had problems with music but i choose all disney songs except i walked into the traditional bridal march. the organist in the pavillion was very good

I've been thinking about this as well lately.

How many songs do we need to pick?

Thanks for all the suggestions so far girls.

Sarah, hope this thread helps you too!

Alex, the Imperial March will be hailarious, DF's side of the family would find that so funy, but I'm not sure my parents would get it! Great idea, and maybe something we could consider! Are you having this played from an ipod or such?

Denise, Zip-a-Dee would be an awesome recession song, I've toyed with the idea of the main Fantasmic theme, but again not sure how a violin would pull this off!

Sarah, I do like the traditional bridal march and also the traditional recessional music too, again this is something we've considered, with Disney music for the other sections....

Claire, the list in the pack is:
Groom's Entrance (Wedding Pavilion Only)
Bridal Party Entrance
Bride's Entrance
Unity Candle / Sand Ceremony (Optional)
Recessional
First Dance (Optional)
Cake/Champagne Celebration (Optional)

I suppose we have to go through most of these choices again when it comes to the at home ceremony as well :scared1: But I know this involves a sound technician so these will all be actual tracks we'll have to pick, totally different style!!

Anyone else care to share their choices?? :grouphug:

Hiya,

I'm would to get the violinist to play the first part of it, and then make it look like a mistake and switch to Vivaldi's Spring. There will probably be only a few people that would get it but the main thing is that Tim and I will, and so will our best mate! The more I think about it the more I like it... :darth:

It Had To Be You

Try looking for compilations rather than the specific piece of music. I found one of ours in 50 Years of Movie Music for Violin, but searching for the name of the song itself just bought in sheet music for piano.

I checked in the 50 Years comlination and your track isn't there :sad1: but you might find another compilation that it is in. Love songs maybe, or ballads?

Happy hunting!

I would think that WDW would have this song...I would also think that it is pretty common-but I guess not  I have a ton of time to look! :surfweb:

Thanks everyone for all of the info! :thumbsup2
Now I'm going to start searching for some samples of violin music to listen to, at least I have plenty of time to make a decision.

I absolutley love that idea, I may seriously have to consider pinching it!! But perhaps have it change into the bridal march!

Well I spilled the beans to DF about the Death March idea (I'm rubbish at keeping secrets from him!!) and I'm kinda glad I did, as he said he'd prefer to be more traditional :lmao:

He said if I'd done it he would have probably found it funny, but because he now knew and had a choice in the matter, he'd rather I didn't!!

Still really stuck on the whole music front, I think we're going to have to block out an afternoon one weekend and get on iTunes and have a good old hunt!

I wanted to say thank you too! This is great info! I'm also thinking lots of disney songs, but I have two louis armstrong songs I absolutely love. Any idea how LONG it takes to walk down the aisle at the WP? I mean, like how much music do I need- I assume it will start an then a few seconds later I'll come down, but... do you pick only a part of a song then I assume? Hmmm...

Thanks again!!
