Ceremony music - Recessional

I am at a complete loss as to choosing a song for our recessional, or skipping it altogether. Our wedding is rather informal; the ceremony is being held in the same place, same room, as the reception. The guests will come in and sit at their tables, then we come in for the ceremony. After the ceremony, there will be an hour for us to take photos and the guests will stay in the room for the cocktail hour. There is no receiving line. So...will it seem weird for us to be announced as husband and wife, but not have a recessional and stay right there for photos? Or, will it be more awkward to have a recessional, but then immediately come back in? Both seem really strange, which is why I can't decide...

If the majority rules for having a recessional, I could also use suggestions for music. We're not entirely traditional; our processional is going to be the Trans-Siberian Orchestra version of Canon in D. Something with a little rock-n-roll for us!

I got hung up about the whole reception thing - no "MC" and the space wasn't hidden so how weird to walk around, join folks, then get announced walking into the reception? Weird!

I do think the music at tge recessional moment is good though. Whether you parade out or not, it's kind of an end cap OB tgat part of tge festivities. We did "great big beautiful tommorow" on a CD. it's festive, not too serious but it does have a fun and sentimental message to it that could suit an occasion such as a wedding!

I agree that it would be nice to end the ceremony with a song, even if you don't do a formal recessional. It's like the end credits of a movie or the way they start the house music after the encore at a concert—it signals that everything is wrapping up.

Ours was the song from the bar fight scene in Pirates of the Caribbean II, so, not formal at all. Just a fun, upbeat note to end things on.
