We are currently booked for the wedding gazebo but are considering changing to the marina if it is available. Does anyone have any experiences with either location?

The reason why I am considering the marina is that it's at the GF, which is where our reception would be (Cirtico's). Would we be able to walk from the ceremony to the reception? (Thus saving on transportation and being able to hire round-trip bus services rather than hourly service).

Rick is worried about making the site look like a ceremony site without spending a ton on floral. Either site we want to use will be minimally decorated to cut down on costs.

Any input is appreciated! :confused3

The only photos I've seen from the marina are from Bride to Be's wedding. (I'm assuming you've seen those? ) She had a TON of decor, though. I think the marina is beautiful and wouldn't necessarily need a lot of decor if you didn't want it. Just be aware that it's right outside the GF's quick service restaurant, Gasparilla Grill & Games, and in between 3 guest buildings, so it won't be super-private.

You definitely will be able to walk to your reception, though. Citricos is in the main building and it's maybe a 2 to 3-minute walk from the marina. :thumbsup2

It's not a normally used ceremony site so thy may not have chairs readily available. You may have to rent chairs and that means a chair moving fee too. If you're not having a ton of guests then it shouldn't be too much.

Make sure to ask if you use it as a ceremony site will seating be included in your site rental fee.

I just had my wedding at the Gazebo and we had dinner at Victoria and Albert's. We did have a few hours between the two and our guests had their own vehicles so we didn't have to worry about trasportation. We did not have any decor at the Gazebo and it was still beautiful there is a link to pictures in my PJ on page 18.

I personally LOVE the marina, and think it would make a great spot for a ceremony. (You have a view a great view of Cinderella castle... can't get better than that!) I would ask your planner about the details of chair rental, decor, etc. and see how much it would cost for how you want it to look, and then go from there. You might be surprised how cheap or expensive a ceremony there would be. It would deff. be nice to just have your guests walk to the reception.
