I love DCL, but I really wish they would change up their cereal selection! No Cheerios, no Lucky Charms, no Frosted mini wheat? And the only Frosted Flakes are of the multigrain variety - why would you do that to a perfectly delicious unhealthy breakfast treat? Even the acceptable Low Fat Granola comes with raisins

Can you tell me what cereals they DO have? I am doing first DCL cruise in December.

I know they have Rice Krispies because I can tolerate them, as well as the Low Fat Granola with raisins as long as I pick those shriveled up things out of the cereal first. I think they also have corn flakes. It really is a bad selection. I love my sugar cereal - I could eat peanut butter Cap’n Crunch all day long (no, they don’t have that cereal either).

I believe they have a deal with Kelloggs.


Cheerios is General Mills.

Oh man, I love fruit loops, but I don’t remember ever seeing them on a Disney Cruise. They don’t have any good sugar cereals.

I think they have a good selection. They could never have ALLLLL the kinds that everyone might want. It's not supposed to replicate your grocery store!

There's always the doughnuts and plenty of other sugary items if you need them. I know my dd was able to get Fruit Loops on our last 2 Fantasy cruises, she always grabs some to have as snacks for excursions. BTW, I agree GM cereals are better, and I don't live in MN Every year dd's school is able to have one of the science museum from Columbus, OH come to her school. They do a program and set up 10 experiments for the kids to do, all paid for by the box tops the school collects. Love it, so much fun, thank you GM!(OK, that was off topic)

Not if you are gluten-free. Kellogg’s is woefully behind in making any gf cereals. General Mills has Cheerios and Chex...and Lucky Charms On the sugary cereal side.

I was thinking this same thing. I've adopted Cheerios as my cereal of choice and for an on-the-go snack since having to go GF. I checked out the cereal offerings when we were just on the Magic and was disappointed they didn't have any Cheerios. I knew they had Kellogg's products but was hoping they maybe made an exception for Cheerios so there would be a safe GF option.

I’ll make sure and mention it in my “glows and grows” email after my July cruise. I don’t know if it would do any good if they are contracted with Kellogg’s, but possibly. I know a lot of the cereal at school breakfast in NYC is Kellogg’s but they do have Cheerios as a gf option. So I am sure an exception can be made - something like “We need a cold cereal option for our gluten-free guests, and since you do not offer a gluten-free cereal, we need to do a mini contract for Cheerios.” Or something.

True, not really complaining, well, yes I am They don’t have 9 out of the top ten most popular cereals in the USA - I would say that is pretty bad.

I'm glad I have been set free and no longer eat breakfast cereals. (I'm just kidding, bad humor).

I do have to agree though, from when I did eat cold cereal, the only one that I would eat over the years at Disney has been the raisin bran; though I would have preferred Post Raisin Bran instead.

As I type this I am having flash backs to my youth of Cocoa Puffs, Cap'n Crunch, Apple Jacks, Trix, Count Chocula, Frankenberry, and Cocoa Pebbles.

Having computer problems. Anyway, I loved Frankenberry as a kid. Bought some for my dd a few years ago and it was horrible, don't know if they changed the recipe or what. I had to thow it away, no one would eat it. I also liked the Boo something one with the ghost, but am too afraid it won't be good now either. Thankfully Cocoa Pebbles is still good!

A box of cereal isn't too difficult to pack and bring with you. Or even mini packs those could be packed here and there in several bags.

I just bring my own off-brand bran flakes because I don't like the high sugar content in the recognizable brand named ones. It's really no big deal to me. They add no real weight, nor do they take up much space.
