So, we have moved to Atlanta from RI and I am a temporary stay at home mom. Hats off to those that do it on the regular. I keep calling my friend and reciting my mantra "this girls are not gonna drive me crazy!!" Not even after the water fight in the media room near the computer!

Well, anyway, I am looking for inexpensive things to do to occupy the gang. So far we have done Dixieland, bowling, chuck e cheese (2X). I saw the Centennial park online and decided to try that next week. I saw kids running through a fountain on the website. Is it approparite for the girls to wear their bathing suits to play in the fountain? That alone will occupy them. What else is there to do in the park and around Atlanta for the younger set. On a tight budget as I am not working yet and DH won't get paid until the end of August.

just like at EPCOT some parents have their kids wear their swimsuit under their clothes and also bring a change of clothes or underwear for after the fun. One piece of advise try to pick a day when events that cause traffic or a lot of folks are not going to be downtown. Everybody will enjoy it more.

The fountains are always full of kids... LOL!

Bring a towel. They run a LOT of cholrine thru the water, I alway smell it when I am there.

The park it actually nice, you can bring a picnic too and just have a little party. Just walk around, and see stuff.

Have you tried Piedmont Park? I "think" there is a playground there and it's a big park to explore.

What part of Atlanta are you in? That might help folks come up with ideas. (There is a nice park near me in Dunwoody. Brook Run, has a great playground always lots of kids!)

And of course if your kids are in school, they will be starting soon. Schools here seem to start REALLY early!

Right across the street from Centennial Park is the Georgia Aquarium...which is excellent. It has lots of hands on things for kids. It's not free but worth the admisiion price.
