cellular blinds (update- love some, dislike some!)

Did you install the blinds yourselves? Trust me, neither one of us is handy when it comes to such stuff, especially for an entire house install. I MIGHT attempt it if it was just one or two blinds, but even then it would probably take me three times as long as a professional would take.:headache:

I have installed all of the new blinds we have put in-and the curtain rods, and the valances, etc., etc., etc. For less than $200, heck YES I would have someone else do all of them. We have 26 windows in our house--that is $4.50/window .

There was a delay somewhere, somehow, at the manufacturing place, but the installers finally came out yesterday and installed all of our blinds.

I am SO disappointed with the continuous loop blinds.:sad2: I didn't want cords hanging, especially in the living room, so I paid extra for continuous loops on all the living room windows, and also on all the bedroom windows and the french doors in the dining area.

They are very hard to open and close, the loop only comes down halfway on the window frame so I still have to reach up to open and close the blinds. However, the worst part, is that it's extremely difficult to get them to hang evenly when they're raised up. Drives me nuts trying to even them out.:headache:

On the other hand, I LOVE the top up/bottom down blinds that we had installed in the bathrooms and the office. The blinds installed in the laundry room is just the regular bottom up, cord hanging one. I figured I'd go with the least expensive blind for the laundry room, and now I wish I had done the same for the living room and bedrooms. It works beautifully and is easy to straighten.

The bedrooms are all room darkening blinds, and they really do their job! Just wish they were easier to operate.

So, if I had it to do over, I'd definitely not go with continuous loop blinds again! Curious if anyone else has this type, and if you also find them difficult.

I asked one of the guys who helped build my house if he'd hang them and he hung all of them for me. :)

Sorry you are not thrilled with the continuous loop one you got. I have never used those.

I think we need a picture update. :)

We went with white and single cell for our bathroom windows (large one over the soaker tub and small one in the toilet room. We wanted the match the trim.

How about one of me totally exasperated, as I balance on the arm of the couch while trying in vain to lower one end of the blind with one hand as I pull down on the other side of the blind with my other hand to try to even it out. Or one of me lowering and raising the blinds over and over until I have steam coming out of my ears.:headache: It isn't a pretty sight!!
