Cellphone use without data plan?

Hi!

I read the sticky on cellphone use but seems it covered calls, roaming etc.

I do not have a data plan at all.

I am wondering if I can just use my old Samsung Galaxy to access My Disney Experience via park WIFI? It is not connected to any phone number/account.

I have no need to make calls or texts but thought it might be handy to try for 4th fast passes etc using my phone while in the parks.

Uh huh, just verify that it indeed connects to the wifi at home, and it should work just fine in Disney World.

Disney Wi-Fi is pretty impressive, considering the fact that it covers hundreds of thousands of guests roaming across acres of theme park attractions. I Is it 100% fast, reliable, and useable in every circumstance? I would not say so.

For your purpose however, it seems absolutely fine. When I was in Orlando on business and decided to spend some downtime in the theme parks, I found that it wasn't good enough connectivity for my purposes. Luckily, you don't have to worry about that. Have a great time!

If it is an old phone make sure the operating system is at least 5.0 or MDE won't work since the latest upgrades. You can only access MDE through the browser on older phones.... like mine...

Yep, I discovered this the other day. I went and purchased a $15 Moto from WalMart that has Lollipop installed, just for the app.
