Cell phones in Parks

I have Sprint, and it worked very well in all the parks, and just about everywhere except inside one of my rooms at PO Riverside. I was even able to use my cell modem for my email (unfortunately, even while on vacation, I have to maintain contact with my office). I do keep the phone on vibrate or on "silent mode", and would never consider answering it while on a ride or in a show. I also don't return calls until I get to an area where I won't bother anyone else with my phone, and I only answer those calls which absolutely cannot wait. After all, this is my vacation, and everyone who has my cell phone number knows that.

Sorry for the double post...my computer needs a vacation even more than I do--and no, I will NOT take it to WDW, no matter how much it begs!

We are staying at POR this October - did you have trouble getting any reception at the resort, or just when you were in your room?

MyMatisse - thanks for info. & congrats!! Don't know what your plans are - but most romantic part of our trip was Sunday morning - headed straight over to French bakery in WS - we were the only ones there! Have a great time!

We just got back and had no real trouble with Verizon or Sprint. My one BIL did comment that he thought WDW had "blockers" in most of the rides and shows so no one would have reception, therefore keeping the peace It actually helps, because you didn't have to keep turning off your phone, they did it for you.

That's what I like to hear! I'm glad to hear about the blockers on the rides. It's one thing to be able to check on your family while you're away and just walking around the park, but when I'm in the Haunted Mansion, I want to hear what the head in the glass ball is saying, not the guy next to me into his cell phone. LOL!

I doubt it seeing that such cell phone "jamming" devices are illegal in the US.
