Cell phone vent!

Agreed. The world has become so dependent on smart phones. I love mine, but when I'm at Disneyland the only time I use mine is if I'm taking a photo and sharing it!

Why do you come to a Disney park (or any other park, for that matter) and spend the entire time with your face glued to a cell phone?? We saw this ALL DAY! And on almost every single ride. What is wrong with people? Look up! Enjoy why you're here.

When I was there last August, the only reason I had my phone was because my gf and I were there with her family. So it was just in case we got separated.

I understand that Disney and the phone companies are making $$$ off these apps on the phones, tablets, iPads, etc. and they work quite well, BUT when I'm in the parks, I'm there on vacation to escape reality.

I like to think of my going to WDW as the Corona commercials where they would throw the cell phone into the ocean when it started ringing!!!

Unfortunately the world is too captivated by technology that they can't put it down. Myself, I have my camera in hand everywhere I go, but that's to catch anything that could happen at a moments notice. I'm not texting, facebooking, tweeting, pinning, etc that I went from the main entrance to the TTC to EPCOT, etc.

As far as phones and iPads in the parks I think this sums it up with the overuse:

I agree!
Its sad to see parents glued to their phone ignoring their kids.

When I have my phone out its to take pics of my kids and then I have them use the apps to check mousewait or the mobile magic or Ask Otto for the next ride.
BUt I try to make it something we do together. They love planning the next ride and strategizing!
