A UK listener asked how he could get an AT&T SIM card for use in his iPad. I don't have exact details, but I can point them to another thread on this issue. Canadian cell phone providers are notoriously expensive to use in Florida, so there is a massive (+300 post) 'sticky' thread in the Canadian tips section. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1648835
The tips can be divided into three general strategies: paying for roaming packages using foreign carriers, buying US sim cards, or buying US disposable cell phones.

The iPad in the US uses a microsim, so make sure you receive the correct form factor sim card for your iPad. I am not sure if international iPads use the regular form factor or the micro so make sure to get the right one for your iPad.

All ipads (and iPhone 4's) use microsims :)

You can cut down a regular sim to a micro sim with an exacto knife and use it in an IPAD and Iphone 4. Just make sure that it is an all ready active sim from ATT.

Yep, meant to be fairly easy to cut it down.
I wouldn't have trusted myself to do it tho but I got microsim with my iPhone and only have a wifi iPad so dodged that pile of scissors and cuts fingers ;)
