Ok, you guys have done so good on posting your opinions on certain services and your recommendations have been wonderful. I've had no problems with any decisions I've made with what info I was given. Thanks!

One more question. My DH recently got rid of our Cingular Wireless plan because our contract was up and we were paying $35 or $36 on a phone I never use. I do need it though when I'm out of the house and my DD's preschool needs to contact me for emergencies and such.

Now the phone is quite old and the battery often doesn't stay in place and my phone goes out when talking. ARRGGGHH! It's been doing that for awhile and I've made due. I try to be frugal and use things as long as I can.

I need a new phone (one that doesn't break right away) and either pay as you go or low plan as I don't use it much.
Thanks,
Tammy

I would love to hear answers on this too. Our contract ends with Verizon next month, but my phone just died this weekend. I need a pre-paid type plan too.

HI, I had Verizon last year and was paying 40+ a month for a service I didn't use. I was info in Tracfone and purchased a phone from there site and you only pay for the minutes you use. I love it ...we used it at Disney and it worked great and it even works in the rural area in NH where I live. You can keep track of your minutes right on the phone screen. Also with there refer a friend promo you can get a 100 free minutes for your phone with an email referal and that person get some too. It really suits my purpose had it almost a year now. If you have any questions or want a referal PM or email me. Go to www.tracfone.com to check out there deals....in my area they have a reconditioned phone with 40 minutes for 19.99 thats what I did. Even if you get it and throw it away after you use the minutes its still less than 40 a month. Hope this helps. Carol :earsgirl:

I would just get all the facts with pay-as-you-go phones. I asked someone about them once and there is a $1 per day charge each day you use the phone, then then minutes on top of that. So, if you use the phone once a day for 15 days in the month you get a $15 charge on top of the minutes used. And I was also told that when you buy a phone card a lot of them expire in 30 days. So if you buy a 100 minute phone card you have to use it within the month. Not sure if that is what you were looking into but it worked out better for me to renew my Cingular contract. We both got new phones and have the family plan for $49.99/month, 450 shared minutes, unlimited mobile-to-mobile and unlimited nights and weekends. Of course with the taxes it ends up being like $64/month for the 2 phones.

Check out this thread for Tracfones. many of us here at DIS have one & we love it! :cool1:

I, or any one of us on the thread can send you a referral for 100 free minutes bonus minutes to get activated, plus you will have 4-6 months of service, depending on how much many minutes you use. :cool1:
