We are looking at possibly switching from pay as you go plans to a contract or no-contract family plan. We are also looking at getting DD16 some version of an iphone 6. We are pretty much low budget phone people so I'm trying to sift through all of the possibilities. I know threads pop up on here frequently and have read through many of them.

I have seen lots of potential promotions coming up for the holidays and hoping to jump on one of the current offers. We currently pay $123 a month for 4 phones - 2 unlimited everything on VM, 2 with some data and unlimited calls/texts on H20. Sprint seems to be a top possibility so far but I'm not sure of their coverage around here and plan to ask around.

For others who are shopping, what deals are you considering? What iphone 6 version do you recommend? I am thinking of the lease option for DD since she cares more about keeping up with the latest tech more than the rest of us. We would need 4 or 5 lines and don't want to pay more than $160 for 4 lines.

It is very confusing to read through all of the lease, payment plans, phone sales for each carrier. Any advice, sites to read, or deals that you can share are appreciated!!!

The worst thing about all of these plans is that they keep CHANGING! What was true last time this year may not be true this year!

When you say you pay $123, do you mean with tax or pre-tax?

4 phones on ATT is $160 but that also means you have to buy your own phones. You can probably pick up an iPhone 6 (not the newest 6s) for $400 or less on Craigslist.

I have read T-mobile is cheaper ($100 for 4 lines pre-tax) but you would need to look into it further. It is buy your own phones too.

I don't know about Sprint because we don't get good Sprint service here and so I haven't looked into it.

Head over to HowardForums.com. They know everything about everything when it comes to phones, phone plans, etc.....

Look into cricket wireless. They are very reasonable for 4 lines if you don't use a ton of data.

I'd be nervous about buying an iPhone off craigslist. I went the eBay route and picked a seller with a lot of good reviews.

If by VM, you mean Virgin Mobile, then what you have currently uses Sprint towers, so you'd get the same coverage.

I dont think there's anything 'low budget' about iphones. If you want one, you're gonna pay in some form or another.
