I'm just wondering if anyone knows if there are cell phone charging stations at the parks. My daughter is arriving for a school band trip and they will be running all day. I'm hoping she will have the opportunity to charge her phone at some point during the day so I can keep in touch with her, pictures, etc. Thanks!!

The only park that has "assigned" charching stations is MK, one by the Tangled restrooms area, one by the Storybook Circus area and one inside the gift shop of Space Mountain.
But she can take her charger and plug anywhere, we like to charge our phones while we eat lunch at any of the counter services.
You can also take the phone to Guest Relations and they will charge it until you pick it up

I recommend a Powergen power pack. It can fully charge up to 5-6 times your phone. They sell for around $40 at Amazon. Even you can charge 2 o 3 phones at the same time during your lunch.

I bought a portable charger also, but it is a small one that looks like a lipstick case. Haven't tried it yet but it says it will deliver at least one full charge to an Iphone and that's really all I need.

This is what we have, although, we didn't have to use it all in June (just charged back at the room that night). However, I am anticipating needing it next week . . . we shall see.

At the Magic Kingdom, in the game room at the end of Space Mountain, they have a huge power strip area to charge phones. Along with the Tangled bathroom area.

At Epcot, there were tons of plugs at the end of Test Track.

We spent most of our time at those two parks, so if there are others, I'm unaware. I did purchase one of those portable chargers, but unfortunately, it didn't work. I never thought I'd have to carry a charger, but with taking pictures and checking mydisneyexperience, the battery life of my iphone didn't last through the day. As much as I love the phone, it's very frustrating.

just a sanity check...

how long would one have to stand in the middle of the park to charge their phone? I mean really?

if there is that much of a concern, i would invest in those portable chargers. i couldnt picture my teenage daughter trying to tell the group she is travelling with to stop for an hour to charge her phone...

It would work if one was to find an open table near an outlet at a counter service restaurant, and planned on spending an hour in there, eating realllllllly ssssssssssssssssslooooooooowwwwwwly...

Otherwise, I don't see much fun in spending an hour in the gift shop at SM, standing there watching my phone charge, or watching people go into the bathrooms, etc.

Perhaps the OP's child could just turn off the phone for a few hours during the day?

Apple or Android? If Android, most of them have replaceable batteries. Just buy and carry one with, pop it in on the run if needed. Zero time.

I always carry a spare in my pocket, about the size of a matchbook.

I'm a fan of PowerGen, too. My unit is smaller, but I carry it around in my purse for when my phone dies and I'm not near an outlet. Happens at least once a week.

I charge up everything (phone, cameras, wifey) the night before in the hotel room. I bring several power strips (with surge protectors) with me, and everyone charges their peripherals for the following days activities. Works great.

There's no way I can go all day without charging my phone on the go. With texting, taking pictures, checking return times around the park...my phone is near dead by lunch lol.

I carry a portable battery pack and it's awesome!

My phone was dying while we were in EP and I was able to charge it (I had my cord with me) while waiting for our table at Le Cellier. Near the Kidcot station there is an outlet (at the exit of the Canada movie).

If you are using mymagic+ regularly during a park day as well as doing everyday activities on your phone, ie texting, pictures, phone calls there is no way your phone is going to be charged all day. Doesn't matter if you charge it all night and unplug it on the way out the door. On my trip 2 weeks ago my iPhone wouldn't make it to dinner. I carried the charger below and it's literally a little bigger than a tube of lipstick. I hate carrying stuff in my pockets to the parks, but I didn't even notice this charger was even in my pocket.

If you are checking MDE just because you need to know your next return time, I suggest taking a screenshot of your FP+ for the day and then set that pic as your lock screen photo. I realized this on day 3 of our trip, after my phone died prematurely on days 1 & 2.

At Studios we charged our phones while we ate. We were eating in the big eating area across from Beauty and the Beast. We sat at a table near the road. There are wooden columns in the area holding up the roof. There are plugs in the bottom of the columns and we just plugged our phones in. We did bring the adapter with our phones as you need a regular plug in to use these.

Perhaps you're right, if you spend a large part of your time in the parks texting, taking pictures with your cell phone, and calling others constantly, you'll probably burn through your phone battery very quickly. But I don't spend so much time in the parks on my phone; I prefer to spend the time there in other ways. So, I don't drain my cell phone battery so quickly.

For me, the batteries I'll drain during a day in the parks are my camcorder batteries. So, I figured out that if I purchase a couple spares prior to my next WDW trip, and while visiting the parks, charge them nightly at the hotel, I'm ready to go ALL Day the next day!
