:tiptoe:I am looking for the list of ingredients in dole whips and other such goodies in the park. I have gluten sensitivity, and some allergies.
Any help would be nice. I don't want to cause any problem asking. I would like to try the citrus stuff, but need to know the ingredients.
Thank you.
any info or links would help. I cannot find anything, and this new updated web site is a bit frustrating for me.

Following. We are taking my brother next trip and he is Celiac and has Down syndrome. I am trying to learn all I can to make him have an amazing trip and make sure he doesn't get glutened by accident.

I am not celiac but have an intolerance, and I love the blog gfinorlando.com. She has the most comprehensive list of restaurants ive seen. Disney is amazing IME for any kind of food allergies, and are very careful about cross contamination. Almost any restaurants you will go to in the parks or resorts will be able to take care of you and your brother. Making advance reservations is helpful if it's a sit down, but they should still be able to give you good gf food if you just walk up. We got gf beignets at French Quarter when we just walked in for lunch! Have a great time.

Dole Whips are gluten free. You can email special diets for a listing of GF alternatives at the restaurants. Every place that sells food also has a binder containing a list of ingredients-you need to ask for it and they are happy to help so don't be shy about your need.

thank you to everyone- Chickp I have had the beignets, and I can tell you that the staff at Crystal Palace was so freaking awesome I was able to enjoy that buffett back in Sept-I will say it is a bit chaotic atmosphere, but your dear brother should enjoy it.
I will be posting reviews . I will be there in 1 week.
:hyper2:
I am eating at Artist Point, and though memory is blank at the moment, some other places. I am concerned about the water park food. I can always eat food without the bun.
I can tell you the popcorn in Germany at Epcot was okay, did not bother me.

Good to know about the dole whips! Anyone know anything about the citrus swirl, the popcorn, the rice crispies, the ice cream from the ice cream carts, or the cotton candy?

The packaged cotton candy and popcorn should be fine in the MK, and the rice crispy treats they sell at
Starbucks are GF (marshmallow dream bars). The blog I posted above (link isn't working, but it's called gf in Orlando) has a long list of snacks if you want a more exhaustive list for all the parks.

Also, I can't remember where I read it, but the water parks should be fine if you're okay with a burger with a gf bun or pizza. I don't know about cross contamination for fries and such though.

HOWEVER, one should always check the ingredients EVERY TIME before eating a food. Ingredients can change. Cross contamination in preparation can happen.

e.g. although I know Pineapple Dole Whip is free of my allergens (which include dairy/milk), I always inform the cashier that I have food allergies. Measures are taken to reduce cross-contamination risks when my Dole Whip is prepared (washed hands, new gloves, etc).

True. Dole Whips have changed several times since we first had them (and they helped to hone in on DH and DS's reactions to certain ingredients). Nowadays officially DH and DS could have them. And they aren't as horrid-tasting as they used to be to me. Still not much of a treat IMO, though.

They will answer you questions ANYWHERE! I had the PDF but obviously couldn't remember everything when it came to snacks and I had to ask about gluten several times. Once at Aloha Isle because I didn't want to accidentally spike my baby. A drop of gluten would have ruined our entire trip because she would have just screamed for about a week.

No one ever acted anything other than glad to help.

I decided meat without a bun will do for a water park item. I eat meals at night, and not much for the day. I love all that I find out here. Treasure trove of info, and well appreciated. :lovestruc

I believe the Dole whips are gluten free. Our first trip was last April and my husband has celiac. We had the best experience. We had GF chicken fingers at Typhoon Lagoon. I don't believe it was on the menu. The manager was so nice and prepared them. They were really good because she battered them herself-it's not a prepackaged thing. Raglan Road was great as well and we had a great experience at Boma for breakfast.

I had an excellent experience at Sanaa eating GF. The chef came out to talk to me, and I had plenty of choices on the menu.

There's also a food cart in the AK with GF, dairy-free and vegan items.
