Celebrity Vow Renewal At Walt Disney World…

Another celebrity guest in attendance at the vow renewal was Ms. Graciela Beltrán: click here.

Since I didn’t know who Ms. Beltrán was, I looked her up on the Internet. I discovered that she was a recording artist for Univision Records (I didn’t know they had a record division): click here. I also found links to a couple of her music videos & TV performances:

Tesoro (music video)
Que Va (music video)
Que Pena (TV performance)
Corazon Es Tuyo (TV performance)

As I watched the commercial for Charytín and Elin’s upcoming television special, I saw Ms. Beltrán singing at their ceremony and dinner reception: click here. I’m a sucker for a mariachi band (oh, boy, am I ever) and look forward to watching the television show on Sunday night (May 27th).

I thought I'd mention another television show. It is set to air on Monday, May 28th, at 10 PM on Univision's "Show de Cristina." This television show will highlight this month's "A Dream Come True Quinceañera" that was held in Walt Disney World.

For more info, check out the following thread: click here.

Annam26, I went back and changed the photo links in this thread that were giving you trouble. This time I used a different manner to access the same set of photos. Hopefully, they will work for you now. (If the following one works, they should all work.)

Click here to see the press barrage that greeted Charytín when she arrived at the Wedding Pavilion.

Thank you for the links, Janet2K. I was finally able to see the pictures.

They are all so beautiful, I can't wait for toninght!

So Christina is getting into the party too? I think that this is further proof that Disney is contacting the Spanish-speaking shows in order to reach out to the hispanic market.

Annam26, I'm glad you were able to see them.

Please let me know how the TV special turns out. I hope you were able to catch it. I have plans to catch it this evening, too. However, my husband is on a fishing trip with a good buddy right now, and my son is spending the weekend with his friends. That means I am currently without an interpreter. Yikes!

Yes, Disney is targeting that marketplace. I've been doing an awful lot of reading this weekend and one of the things that I read mentioned the following (the source quoted was supposedly the LA Times):

"Disneyland in Anaheim began quietly selling quinceañera packages a few years back, and the parties reportedly became the fastest-growing segment of the resort's event business after weddings."

That was an eye-opener to me. Quinceañeras must be big in Southern California.

The special was great. They showed a lot from the wedding, plus Chary meeting her fans at the MK, and the party later that night.

I wonder if the Mariachis at the wedding were the ones from the Mexican Pavillion at Epcot? They probably were.

I've been in Epcot only a few times, so I'm hardly an expert. At the World Showcase we've mostly stroll outside the buldings, trying to see even a little piece of every country.

They had two parties, one indoors at The Rotunda in The American Adventure building. I've never been inside that building. It looked like the waiting room for The Hall of Presidents at the MK. Is it similar? Can regular couples have their reception there, or was this just for the special?

The second party was outside, in Italy. They keep talking about an "Island" but I've never seen one in Epcot. It looked to me like they were upstairs somewhere, but I could not tell where it was.

They must be! I never knew they had those packages at Disney. I bet they are expensive!

The special was great...
Annam26, did the happy couple get to spend the night in the Cinderella Castle Suite? The suite was mentioned several times during last night’s 90-minute television show but I don’t know if that was strictly advertising for the Year of a Millions Dreams marketing campaign or if the couple was fortunate enough to sleep there. What is your take on things?

Yes, they did spend the night there. It was a surprise Charytin had for husband. What a gorgeous suite!

The special was great.

Annam26, I agree. I really enjoyed the TV special. And I was able to rope my son into sitting through it with me (he came home from his friend’s house just long enough to watch the show – and as soon as it ended, he was out the door again).

My son tried to translate as much of the show as he could for me, but sometimes the folks on camera were talking so fast that he had a hard time keeping up (as did the Closed Captioning). But it was fun for me to at least hear a little bit about what was going on. And from what I saw, Disney did a wonderful job with everything. Charytín & Elin and their guests all appeared to be having a marvelous time.

Yes, I saw the video footage of the wedding party inside the Magic Kingdom. I saw them pose for photos with Cinderella and Prince Charming (with the castle in the background). I also saw Charytín meeting her fans. She seemed very pleased that they had turned out for her.

I wonder if the Mariachis at the wedding were the ones from the Mexican Pavillion at Epcot?

The vow renewal ceremony was held at 12:30 PM (click here) and the dinner reception was held at 6 PM (click here). Like you, I am wondering if the mariachi band was the one from Epcot. It seems almost unlikely since those musicians would be busy entertaining at the Mexico Pavilion, and I don’t know if Disney has enough mariachi musicians on the payroll to populate two complete bands. Hopefully, they do. Otherwise, that might have been an outside band – perhaps one of Charytín & Elin’s favorite bands from home??

Please stop by and visit the building during your next vacation. It is lovely and has wonderful artwork on display. Also, various groups perform there throughout the day. Below are links to photos of the Voices of Liberty vocal group -- they’re wonderful performers:

If you look at those photos, you should get a feel for what the American Adventure Rotunda looks like. It is a large space where park goers wait for “The American Adventure” show to begin inside the theater (please try to catch that show -- it's quite moving).

Can regular couples have their reception there, or was this just for the special?

Regular folks like you and I can host events there. Quite a few of the FTW brides on this website have hosted their dinner receptions there. From everything that I’ve read, the events have all turned out beautifully.

Here is a link to Disney’s official photos of the American Adventure venue: click here. Scroll through the photos – I believe there are nine of them – in order to see various setups inside the rotunda (there is also a link to a 360-degree virtual reality view).

The second party was outside, in Italy. They keep talking about an "Island" but I've never seen one in Epcot.

The dessert party was held on the Italy Isola (isola means “ island” in Italian). It’s an area that sits in front of the Italy Pavilion. Here is a link to Disney’s official photos of this venue: click here. The larger dessert parties are held there since the location is nicely-sized.

If Charytín & Elin’s dinner reception was held at 6 PM, then their dessert party immediately followed it. Normally, the dessert party is held prior to the dinner reception due to Disney not wanting to shut down a pavilion during theme park hours (the theme park guests bring in far more money than a private event does). However, for Charytín and Elin’s event, Disney obviously waived their rules due to the marketing & publicity nature of the event (it was being televised on Univision’s TeleFutura network). It’s well within Disney’s right to dang well do whatever they want to with any of their venues. ;)

Since Illuminations normally begins at 9 PM, my guess is that the dessert party started at least 30 minutes prior (around 8:30 PM). What I can’t figure out is when everyone danced. Did they dance during dinner? Did they dance after the dessert party? It wasn’t apparent to me since the television show seemed to jump back and forth between the events and I was having a hard time following things due to the language barrier. I wish I had an official timeline for the event. My engineering mind craves order (it’s a flaw of most engineers).

Annam26, actually, it was a surprise from Disney. ;) The only way anyone can spend the night in that suite (at least this year) is if they win it as part of the Year of a Million Dreams campaign -- or if Disney books them into the suite since Disney has set aside various days for publicity, marketing, goodwill, and a few other reasons known only to Disney.

What a gorgeous suite!

I wholeheartedly agree. It looks stunning in the photos and video that I have seen of it. Back in January, I started a thread about the suite on the Year of a Million Dreams board here on the Dis: click here. I put links in that thread to whatever photos and videos I could lay my hands on. Since I just stumbled into more photos the other day, I’ll try to remember to update the thread when I get the chance.

Yesterday, Univision added a few more video clips to their website of Charytín and Elin’s vow renewal. I’m glad they did that because it allowed me to get a better look at the venues and how they were decorated for the event. I find information like that extremely helpful. And I especially love videos because I get to see how an event played out, both the good and the bad. However, in this case, if there was any bad, it wound up on the cutting room floor because all I saw was good. Nothing but good.

This first video highlights the reception. You’ll see how the venue was decorated for the dinner reception, as well as a glimpse of the buffet stations and an illuminated wedding cake (it was lit between tiers). Lastly, you’ll see the entertainers performing, as well as the guests dancing during the dance party. The American Adventure Rotunda was obviously hopping that night:
Reception Video

This next video highlights the dessert party that was held outdoors on the Italy Isola. You’ll see a brief glimpse of the cocktail tables and chairs, and an up close & personal look at the scrumptious desserts: bananas foster, ice cream, mixed berries, cannoli shells & horns, chocolate mousse, éclairs, berries & cream, ladyfingers, and more. Please don’t watch this video clip on an empty stomach. You have been warned:
Dessert Party Video

This last video highlights the dance party. You’ll see the guests wearing masks, hats, and beads while they danced their little hearts out. It was quite a festive event. The video clip ends with a romantic dance by the happy couple. You can see 32 years of wedded bliss written all over their faces:
Dance Party Video

After viewing those video clips, I figured out the timeline for the event: dinner first, followed by dessert, and then dancing. Since the tables were set up in the center of the rotunda during the dinner reception, and those tables were missing during the dance party, it was obvious that the tables had been removed while the guests were at the dessert party. Once the Illuminations fireworks show had ended, everyone returned to the American Adventure Rotunda for one hell of a dance party. ;)

I will make sure I stop by the Rotunda whenever I go back to Epcot. I'm sorry I missed it last time. I think Epcot closes too early. Even on EMH, very little is open

Thanks for clarifying that, Janet2k. The whole "Island" bit had me scratching my nead :)

I'm sure that Disney is going to have an big increase in weddings and renewals from the hispanic market. Charityn and Elin's ceremony and subsequent party seemed like a dream. Just beautiful!
