Celebrity Sitings at Disney?

Amen to this!!! Thank You for refraining. If it's just adults then I say do it, but when the kids are involved no way. :)

Sherry, I would LOVE to see your Bret pics!!! How fun!!!! :)

My main thing is - can I remove these (Bret) photos from the album without tearing them? You know how when old photos have been in an album for 100 years, they tend to stick and don't want to come out? This would be no problem if I could easily get the negatives copied, but not many places make copies from 22-year-old Kodak Disk negatives anymore, if any!!! Those cameras were awful - they always broke down! So, IF I can get a couple of them out of the album easily, without resistance, then I will scan them, upload them, and then EITHER send them to you, Kerri, 'on the down low' - so that is not out on the open forum - or send you the Photobucket link. I will figure out a way to do it! I am determined!!!

Courtney - you are I are thinking alike! It was earlier this year - I want to say like March-ish or so - when that celebrity DLR picture thread was running. It started, I think, because someone had met the Girls Next Door (former Hugh Hefner girlfriends, Holly, Bridgette and Kendra) at DLR and then all kinds of pictures were posted with other famous people after that. I COULD be wrong, but I THINK some of the photos that ended up being posted were borrowed from other sources. I am not sure, but it appeared that way. Some were clearly taken by the people posting them, and there was no mistaking that, but I THINK some shots may have been lifted from other entertainment websites, etc. IF I am correct, there could have been legal issues regarding doing that - or even legal issues posting celebrity 'images' in the first place, no matter what the source was. When I tried to locate that thread the last time, it was nowhere to be found! I think it was removed fro DISboards for the possible legal issues that could arise.

I remember that thread. Someone posted a pic of Pamela Anderson in it and the pic was...uh hem...a little inappropriate- so the mods deleted the pic. I don't know if they did away with the whole thread or what.

Oh, was that picture deleted?:rotfl: I vaguely remember seeing the Pamela Anderson pictures and, also, Christian Bale was in the thread somewhere and several other famous people, too. I tried to pull up that link recently and the whole thread was removed, from what I could tell, so I just assumed it was because of some sort of potential legal ramifications, but I could be way off base on that one! I wish we could keep an active thread with pictures because I think it would be kind of interesting to see, but I guess that would mean that DISboard members and other guests would have to get themselves into all kinds of compromising positions to snap celebrity photos at DLR, and that might get them into trouble with the 'handlers,' not to mention it would draw attention to the famous person/people and cause gridlock in the parks, which would be bad!

There is no law from posting your personal pictures of a celebrity, no such thing and not even close.

I work in the entertainment business and deal with this issue all the time. Unless the photo has a copyright, it is fair game. Even if the person was nude and you took it, no problem!

The person may contact you and ask you to take the photo down and if you resist they have the right to sue you but if the picture was truly yours they would LOSE!

Oh good! That is great info to know! I might have to post some then! So I wonder why the original celebrity photo thread on DISboards was removed? I know some of the photos were definitely the property of the DISboard members, but some of the other photos looked more like ones you would see on TMZ or Perez Hilton.com! Maybe it was easier to just remove the whole thread!

I really don't know why the thread was taken down, I'm sure it was the choice of the moderator's and not a celeb or manager threatening a laws suit.

The thing is, once you post a picture on the internet and you do not have an copyright associated with it, anyone that saves the picture to their machine can do anything they want with it. This is one of the main reasons why there is nothing illegal about it because thousands of people could have access to the photo within seconds and post it all over the net. Are they really going to try and get everyone? No!

It is really sad, but a stranger can break into your home and steal your personal pictures and then sell them to somebody else. Unless you have evidence that they broke into your house, there is nothing you can do about it and this happens all the time to celebrities.

I haven't posted the ones I have of Travis and Shanna becasue their kids are in them and there is no way I want to post pics of someone else's child - famous parents or not.

Buuuuut they had their own show and showed the kids and all...they're obviously cool with their kids images being known....:confused3

Even when Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson went back in October, it probably took a while before they were spotted.

In fact, the Plaids only draw more attention to them!!!

It is weird to see someone that you used to know years and years ago, when they were eating spaghetti sauce out of a jar because they didn't have money for other food, and living in a run down warehouse, now suddenly rich and famous and in limos and private jets, living in huge houses, etc.

I believe the first pic of them was posted online while they were still there...I didn't find it until a day or so later, but it was dated that day!

Plaids definitely draw attention. It was the presence of TWO Plaids with a small group of slouchy smoking people that caused me to look twice and notice the person that I am 99.5% sure was K-Fed last May. If he hadn't had the Plaids with them, I wouldn't have looked twice.

And my mom would surely agree with you about knowing people when they were broke and watching them soar! She married in '63 and lived in San Francisco and was a hippie, so you can imagine the people she knew! The group that became Grateful Dead used to jam at their house, she met Jimi Hendrix and shook his hand at a concert (he was already famous), she and my dad and a bunch of other people used to live with Paul Kantner and Grace Slick (my mom never liked her). As a kid who could still use one of those "inch worm" wheeled toy things, I visited Kantner with my mom, and played with their daughter China (who had the inchworm thing) several years later we were backstage at Jefferson Starship's last concert before going back to being Airplane (or Starship before becoming J.Airplane again? gack I hate bands that change their names with changes in line-ups!!!!! anyway it was mid-80s) and I met China again, who was doing her VJ gig. She didn't remember me, LOL, but Kantner obviously remembered my mom (since he's who got us backstage), and sent her xmas cards every year until the year before she died. :goodvibes

She always thought it was very cool, but no huge deal.

IF the thread was taken down, and if it was for legal reasons, I would bet it involved a hotlinking issue, if there were pictures directly from tmz or perez etc, without saving it to one's own harddrive and putting it on one's own picture site account.

I am trying to think of whether or not I have ever seen Plaids at DLR. I know I have not seen much of anyone in the way of celebrities, but I think I HAVE seen some Plaids wandering around. But, since I didn't know what Plaids were or what they were doing at the time, I must not have noticed who was walking around them and didn't pay attention.

Oh, Lord, I remember the Inchworm! Then again, I still recall Baby Tender Love and those rubber ball thingies that you could sit on and bounce up and down. Oh, the glorious days of youth...

Your mom never met Janis Joplin? It seems like she would have been around that group of San Francisco musicians at that time. That must have been a fun time, back in the 'peace and love' '60s!! And I never liked Grace Slick, either, but I don't know why! It is cool how certain geographical locations became associated with a certain 'sound' or era in music, such as that whole San Francisco vibe. There was also the 'California sound', which basically took place in Laurel Canyon with all the musicians who hung out there (Eagles, Linda Ronstadt, Joni Mitchell, C, S, N & Y, Jackson Browne, etc.). Then there were a couple of different incarnations of the Sunset Strip era in music - one being in the '60s with theb Doors and the other being when I was hanging around up there, in the mid-'80s, with all the 'hair metal' bands (Motley Crue, Poison, Warrant, etc.). And, of course, there is Motown...

Ah, yes, I remember China's MTV days. What happened to her? She isn't doing anything now!

Cool stuff!!!

I personally have never sat upon any so called celebrity. However, for the right price, I might just consider it. :)

I can't remember why she never met JJ, but it was just probably the crowd that JJ was in was different than her crowd. Just like JH already being famous, JJ probably was, too.

However, my dad once gave the keys of a van belonging to a roommate over, after being told to absolutely positively NOT hand those keys over...the van was found weeks later absolutely destroyed...turned out the guy my dad gave the keys to was Neal Cassady, known car-destroyer (fellow "Beat" generation starter with Kerouac...not David Cassidy's father as I thought for waaaaay too many years, LOL).

But I've never seen anyone but K-Fed at Disneyland. :upsidedow YET

You were confusing Jack Kerouac with Jack Cassidy? Hee hee! I LOVED David Cassidy back in his day, and I loved Shaun, too! But the one I ended up having lunch with back in the '90s was Ryan Cassidy - who is sort of the Daniel Baldwin of the Cassidy clan...he is the brother that no one knows is a Cassidy (or a Baldwin!). And it was about 15 years after my obsession with David or Shaun, so I wasn't even interested in getting to them anymore!!! Drat!:headache:

On this last DLR trip in October, when we were waiting to get into DCA through the GCH entrance, a lady sat down next to us and was saying that she had just seen Curt Sandoval in the lobby. He is a local TV news personality that you would only know if you avidly watched local Channel 7 news! She seemed excited that she had seen him - I was shocked anyone even recognized him. I don't think I would have. I was thinking to myself, "Other days, Lindsay Lohan is here, and Courtney Cox and her family are here, and the Beckhams, etc. But I am here on a day when Curt Sandoval is here! Woo hoo!":sad2: Oddly, this lady who saw Curt Sandoval also said that she had once been in DLR when she saw Jack Nicholson (I guess he was either with his kids or trying to sleep with the female CM's!), but she didn't seem as interested in that! I would love to see Jack Nicholson in DLR! That would amuse me to no end, because I just don't picture him as being a Disney fan at all!!! He seems like the type who would hate all things Disney!

We saw Daniel Stern once-- years ago. I don't really remember the details but I think he was standing in line for something and my husband said that's the guy from City Slickers- couldn't remember his name, I looked over and sure enough. It looked like him anyway, skinny and very tall. I remember coming up with his name and he kind of smiled. This could have been anywhere from 1993 to 1999, my husband looves City Slickers and does this thing where he'll watch a certain movie kind of in the back ground when he's doing stuff over and over and City Slickers is one of those. we also love Home Alone. I think he said he was with his son and he was impressed he was just there like anyone else. Of course we didn't know anything about 'plaids'. Husband is extremely observant-- he's always picking out actors in movies and saying- oh this is the guy who played the butler in some 1930s movie.....and he's always right so I'm sure it was him. We also met the President of Disneyland once, Paul Pressler at the time. We were talking to a cm who was cleaning around the golden horseshoe place- (we were eating outside at a table) and the conversation turned to Pirates (husband could wow anyone with the details he knows and loves) and the cm told us to wait and we saw a big group of people go into the horseshoe and he came back with Paul. (he later said they were having a big meeting with Anaheim officials) They talked for a good 10 minutes about the ride-- I think it was on the schedule for some major refurb because we actually moved our trip around to avoid it being down that time. I remember he said he took pictures with the 'redhead' lol. The cm said there was pictures available with us and him somewhere we could pick up but we never did..

i've seen quite a few...

Jay Leno, Blink 182, No Doubt, The Girls Next Door, Paris Hilton, Shared a rock with Dave Foley on Space Mtn.

During last year's Food and Wine Festival we saw Guy Fieri several times. To be honest, I had no idea who the heck he was. :lmao:

One time we were having lunch with Disneegrl4eva (Lynn) and several other DISers, and Lynn had just attended a cooking class that guy held. So as he walked by she shouted out to him, and he shouted back to her. There was a funny exchange for a few minutes that we all got a kick out of. :rotfl:

After that we seemed to see him everywhere we went. I think he was with his wife and another adult or two, and a little baby or toddler. He seemed very down to earth, and I thought his family was kind about all the attention he was getting, which impressed me about them all.

The only other person I've seen is Stedman Graham (Oprah's significant other) at the GCH; he was outdoors near the Storyteller Cafe, in a very elegant suit and talking on his cell phone. I behaved like an idiot, freezing a smile on my face when he looked my way, then frantically whispering to DH after we passed, "OMG! That's Stedman Graham!" He said, "Who?" :confused3

The man needs to watch more Oprah. :snooty: :lmao:

Well, it depends how you define celebrity....
I personally probably would not even recognize most of the modern day celebrities because we hardly watch tv.

However, I did see 3 Disney celebrities while we were there on our recent trip.
I saw Tony Baxter walking through NOS. He was carrying a bread bowl and looked to be in a hurry so I just said "Hello, Mr. Baxter" as I passed by him. I was not quick enough to think of my camera since it was such a very brief encounter.

Then we also saw Maynard! We spotted him while we were walking down Main Street by Coke Corner. I talked to him and he began being him silly self with my DD. She just thought he was strange. DH snapped a photo on the video camera but he hasn't downloaded them for me yet.

Our third sighting was Oscar from the Carnation Cafe. He is such an extremely nice man and very entertaining to talk to about the earlier days in the park. We saw him on our trip last year too but this year I remembered to snap a photo and get his autograph.

a few years back we saw LL cool J and his family. we did not take picures....

and this past sept i was coming out of the concierge lounge at the Grand California hotel and this little kid was running down the hall and almost knocked me over with my plate of food. Rather than getting mad i just said be careful so you don't hurt youself and then this couple rounds the corner and it's Cedrick the entertainer and maybe his wife not sure if he is married. i said hello like i always do to people walking the hall and then it hit me who he was. i must have had a really "Whoa that is cedrick" look on my face becuase the woman began laughing. upon looking at him i didnt know but when he said hello back to me i immediately thought to myself that is ceddy lol. that is the name he was called on a show he was on a while back. it was kinda funny and the kid who almost knocked me over was with him. no camera just a plate of strawberries...

:happytv: :flower3:  :scared1: thanks for the info - useful thread...

this seems useful information...thanks for sharing...
:hippie:

Yeah, unless someone owns the rights anyone can use it. Because my DH looks dead ringer to Mr Depp himself he has done/does acting from the short lived NBC show hawaii, to Fox's North Shore along with some films including a bloodbath cannibal horror movie which they gave out gift bags that included barf bags which some had to use lol. Some one went, and why they did it we don't know and reported about him to a local paper about him acting, and being a dead ringer for depp, they gave out info to contact him which was NOT ok'ed by us, or his agent it was kind if a creepy situation since we never knew who did it.

I was there last week and also saw travis barker and his family by the buzz lightyear ride, also saw Ron Jeremy and his family the same day, within about 10 minutes of each other...didnt get a pic of Travis but the dh couldnt help but to get a pic of Ron Jeremy!

Ron jeremy now this made me laugh... ooh my gosh if we saw him im sure my DH would have snapped that for sure as well...and were not the type to do that but this one we would have made an exception hilarious!

Ron is just (no offense) gross. The way him, and vanilla ice acted on surreal life was awfull. I dunno something with the way Ron looks/carries himself gives me the creeps.:scared1:
