Celebrity Sightings

When I was younger 10 I saw Michael Jackson in Magic Kingdom.. Of course my mom lost the pictures!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In January, we saw Manny Ramirez of the Boston Red Sox at Epcot one day and at MGM the next. At Epcot, he and his entourage were walking fastly from Mexico towards Norway, and at MGM we watched him and his friends and family ride by two times on the Rockin Roller Coaster.

Thanksgiving 2003 we saw Samantha Brown from the Travel Channel "Great Hotels". She was filming her Holidays at WDW program the night we took the boat to the Yacht Resort for dinner...she was standing there with her crew filming...the backdrop was of the Boardwalk. As we were getting off the boat she was standing near the railing, sort of hiding her face. Now, I don't know if it was because she didn't want to be recognized or was just trying to her work done and had been interrupted by the arrival of the boat. I couldn't pass on the chance to tell her how much my family enjoyed the program, so as I stepped onto the dock I looked at the crew member holding the reflector board, said, "Samantha Brown and Great Hotels...(held two thumbs up)...we love 'em!!" He looked in her location and said, "See?"

She may not be a BIG celebrity, but I loved her Great Hotels...the one on AKL helped convince DH and DS that was where to stay on the Thanksgiving trip.

I always keep an eye open for others though...ya never know.

If you do a search there have been some pretty lengthy threads in the past all on celebrity sightings. Some of the stories are really interesting.

Since you've asked...
We just got back from a trip in March and apparently there were lots of NFL players around and while checking in at the Boardwalk I ran into Peyton Manning (Indianapolis Colts quarterback) and several of his teammates.
Saw various other players during the week as there were WDW ambassadors waiting in the lobby at BW every morning to escort them around the parks for the day.
But even better than that...while riding RnR coaster on Tuesday a CM mentioned to my daughter that Steve Tyler (of Aerosmith) had been riding earlier that day and that he liked to come down quite frequently and ride.
Well I thought that perhaps this (well meaning) CM was possibly exaggerating a bit and brushed it off.
Anyway sure enough we ran into him and his party while exiting Test Track later that day.
It was neat for my daughters 7 & 12 to meet him after seeing the RnR preshow so many times.
Another nice memory of a WDW vacation!

I went there with Brad Pitt's cousin... does that count? :rotfl: Somehow I think that's as close as I'll ever get to a celeb! LOL :teeth:

We saw Mickey Rooney on our last trip in MGM, I'm a huge fan and he ended up standing next to me to watch the parade. He was quite surprised that I was *only* 32 at the time and I knew all his films.

Paul.

Steven Tyler OMG! If you ever see a 53 yr. old woman screaming and making a total fool of herself that would be me if I spotted him.lol. Actually, I would probably just freeze and be kicking myself later for not saying anything.

Cameron Diaz and Justin Timberlake - they came into a private room right next to us when we were eating.

I always used to think I'd be so cool if I ever saw a celebrity in public. You know, I might nod or say hi, but otherwise not bother them and let them do whatever they're doing in peace.

For my 30th b-day, my husband and all my friends took me out to dinner and while we were eating, we saw a woman who looked like Robin Givens. We were sooo drunk and obnoxious. My friends weren't yelling, but saying loud enough for her to hear, "Robin! Robin! Robin!" and just being major pains. We were laughing hysterically, saying things like, "Yeah right, what would she be doing eating here. Oh Robin! Robin Givens!"

Morons!

It was Robin Givens! That poor woman didn't get a moment's peace.

So if I see a celebrity in WDW, I'm going to get an eye full, keep my mouth shut and move right along. I'll never be uncool again.

I hope. ;)

it would be awesome to see steven tyler in disney! i met him at a book signing a few years ago & got his autograph (& gave him a pink crayon) but i also totally froze up. :sad2:

In May of 2001 when I was getting off Splash Mountain, there were some people waiting to get on from the wrong side. It was Brandy. She got into the log I had just gotten off of.

(I saw Steven Tyler at a resort in Hawaii, in February 2002. He was walking down a little outdoor stairway as I was walking up. There were about 3 kids walking behind him and they must have been whining, because he was telling them something to the effect of "well we're here, and I'm going to have a good time". As he walked by me, I thought "hmm.... that looks like Steven Tyler". So I looked at the kids and thought at least one of them looked like Steven Tyler, so maybe it had been him. Later in the day, an employee at the hotel noticed my son's RNR t-shirt and told him that Steven Tyler was at the resort, too. So then I knew it had been him.)

Saw the Crocodile Hunter on 4/10 I think it was. I was at MK, in the watch shop. Thought it was him, but wasn't till after he left that the employee who spoke with him told the other employee. They are trained to completely NOT gush. It was funny, he seemed to be trying to get her to acknowledge who he was. And his shirt was sort of safari-ish, with a little crocodile on it.

I was not positive it was him (I stayed back to give him space...they deserve peace too!!!) but the when the CM told the other CM, then I knew I wasn't crazy, lol.

I saw Mariah Carey in MK filming for the Christmas parade back in December (along with a ton of other people). It was really cool to see her but I paid the $ to see the parks and enjoy the rides. After a minute I was like "ok, that's enough, lets go ride Space Mountain!".
If I paid attention maybe I would see someone else.
I have seen Donald Trump in NYC and I rode the carousel in Central Park with Fran Drescher (sp?). She looked just like she does on tv. I wasn't sure if it was her on the horse behind me until I heard her laugh! I was going to take a picture, but I always feel bad for celebs when they are out in public. They probably just want to be with their family and friends. I was definitely awe struck for about an hour or two though!

We saw Alan Young about 10 years ago eating at the Grand Floridian and Mariah Carey walking by us (with a group of people) 2 years ago. One of the CM's said she goes there ALL the time.

DH & I were just at DW last week and I spotted Mikey from American Choppers-aka OCC. We were in line to board for Backlot and walking in our direction was a CM, Mikey and some others I didn't recognize. As he was passing me I sayed "Hi Mikey" real loud and waved-He looked and waved to me-AHHH. We were celebrating DH & mines b-days and our up and coming 16 year anniv. Later as we were watching Lights, Motor, Action we found out why he was there. Give ya a clue- Watch American Choppers on May 15th.
After getting off Backlot I called DD15 and told her-
He looks exactly as he does on tv-Wild-man Hair-LOL.
