Celebrity Resort Orlando- anyone stayed there lately??

DH, DD, and I are planning for our fall trip to WDW, and due to finances and comfort, are considering renting a condo offsite. We found a good deal on a 2 bed/2 bath unit in Windsor Hills, and we were prepared to reserve it. Then, DH's father called us- he and DMIL have a time share at the Celebrity Resort Orlando, and they are looking into getting us a 1 or 2 bedroom condo there for the week. I don't know if this would be a free thing, or discounted price- we haven't talked about it yet. They can't help with reviewing the resort- they have never stayed there! They pick a different destination every year (and aren't Disney people )

What I want to know, is what the resort is like. I went on TripAdvisor, and it seems like the reviews are all either awful or glowing- hardly any inbetween. I just want to know if the property amenities are nice, the ease of getting to the parks, and if the condos are okay. We don't need the Taj Mahal- just a decent place to rest our heads and lay by the pool. Obvoiusly, if it's free, it will be a no-brainer- but if the price is close to Windsor Hills, I'd rather go with the "nicer" resort.

Well, I guess nobody has stayed at Celebrity, then??

Well, we are going to be there for a 7 night stay in Oct/Nov, so we'll have to review it when we get back. Turns out, DFIL got a free week (he had some problems with Celebrity last year), and gave it to us. We have a 2 bedroom condo for a week for $0!!!

Now we just need to decide where to stay for 1 night before we check in to Celebrity. We are leaning toward LBV Resort Best Western (at DTD) right now- we got a rate of just over $100 from their website.

hi we statyed at Celebrity and had a wonderful experience - very clean - nice atmospher - everything about it was A+ we would stay there again but we 2 less people in our pary (adults) so we decided to stay at DTD. Hope this helps - i had no complaints what soever!!!

Thanks for the review!! We are looking forward to it. We just made a ressie for our first night at the Radisson Resort Orlando- Celebration as well. So we'll have to review both of them when we return.
