Celebrity "demands" (and other oddities while on tour...)

I saw a grammy winning female singer who is a recovering alcoholic pitch a fit and throw a phone across a room because the caterer made a chicken dish with a white sauce that included wine--and we all know the alcohol was burned off in the cooking process...

well not that she had to throw a phone--but if that was the only dish and she didn't even want to taste the wine as it could maybe cause a relapse---I would be upset too.

I agree, it was the way she reacted. Had she simply had her tour manager take the caterer aside and explain the situation, I'm sure he would ahve been happy to arrange something else. This meal HAD been approved by her management a couple weeks in advance though...

most of those aren't too bad. I'd expect (SOME of) the same things if I were required to preform like that.

But Marilyn Manson...thats just funny. :rotfl:

I used to work in hotels, and lots of celebrities (and businessmen) have odd things they need. But they usually have their people say so way ahead of time, and they pay for it.

I can understand, for instance, Springsteen wanting his equipement guarded. I'm sure he paid for the guard.

It is when they "demand" stuff (usually they just ask, if they aren't ordering something they'll pay for) that it gets a little ridiculous. But it really doesn't happen ALL that often.

Prince HAD to get escorted throught the staff areas to the rear exit. There would have been NO commotion if he'd gone out the front. But he was just ever-so-special. And this was *demanded* at the last minute! What a dope.

A group of rock people did break the bathtub with their kegs and claimed it wasn't them. Like housekeeping might not notice a bathtub totally torn apart! :lmao:

Most celebrities (NOT Celine Dion, OH, GEEZ) are no problem at all. They know what they want ahead of time, fax it to you, and pay for it.

That was my experience, anyway.
