Have you been to Celebration? We have not been, but I read a recent article about their downtown, and how they decorate for the holidays...we will be at DW Thanksgiving week....is this something we (DH.DW, DD11) enjoy?

thanks!

I have not been at the holidays. However, I've read a lot of posts here that say it gets very decorated and festive. If you can schedule it I'd definetly go take a peak.

I drove over one day in May. Checked out the hotel and a few shops.
I think it will look pretty decked up for the holidays, so now that you mention it, I might have to drive over again this trip! THanks for the idea!

We have been to Celebration during the year, not at the holiday time- it is like a normal town - there are not really things to see other than the houses. There is one great restaurant there - The COlumbia Restaurant. It is cuban & the food is fantastic - we got there every time we visit Orlando - in fact my parents are eating Thanksgiving dinner there this year.

It is very beautiful during the holidays. The residents get very festive (they usually have a holiday lights tour). They also do the "snow" on Market Street and Santa Claus is there... Here is the info on that if you get a chance to go over when those activites are being offered:

November 25 - December 31
6:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.
Now Snowing Nightly
Snow falls on MARKET STREET at 6, 7, 8 & 9 p.m.
Photos with Santa
Pet Photos with Santa on Wednesday evenings
Strolling Holiday Carolers and Holiday Entertainment

All the restaurants there are great. Hubby and I are huge fans of Cafe D' Antonio and the Market Street Cafe. We have eaten at Columbia once and also The Celebration Town Tavern, but usually end up at the Cafe's...

How would you get to Celebration from WDW if you do not have a car? Taxi, bus or shuttle? For Christmas trip would it be worth it if we don't have a car?

If you have time, especially after dark, check out some of the homes, decorated for Christmas.
No all, but many of the residents have professionals come and decorate for them.

You would really need a car.

Okay, not "many" have professionals come decorate their homes - we can give eyewitness account that many, MANY of our neighbors do it themselves. Sometimes the older folks hire someone to put them up, but not exactly the same. The peach-colored mediterranean on East Lawn was done by professionals tho.

The Holiday Home Tour is December 10th from 3 to 9 and December 11th from 1 to 5. Tickets the days of the event will be available in front of Town Hall - $15.00 Adults, $5.00 Children 3-11. Come on by and check it out!
