What is it like there? Are they many shops? Things to do?

Do you guys have any restaurant recommendations? Was thinking of maybe stopping off for lunch & a look around one afternoon.

Celebration does have a market street. If you check the link below it will tell you about the shopping and dining etc.

We normally go at least once on during our holiday, and normally do that on a Sunday morning as that is when the Farmers Market is on - lots of stalls selling local crafts and produce (honey, moisturisers, candles etc).
For food we like the Market Street Cafe. It has a good menu, reasonable prices and the views across the lake are nice too.

is the farmers market only on in the morning or also on sunday afternoons?

Where do you park?

Are there car parks or is it a metter of trying to find a space on the street?

There's a large, open car park adjacent to the cinema, which is on the periphery of the town square. You can't miss the car park as you drive into Celebration.

There's effectively just one street of shops, mostly of the boutique style, but it's a delightful place to spend a few hours. The Market Street Cafe is a good spot for sampling a slice of local life and the walking trail around the lake is a pleasant diversion. The Farmers' Market runs from 9am - 3pm each Sunday (except for a couple of weeks in August when it's closed).

Hi,
I don't suppose you know which weeks in August it's closed, or where I could find out?
Thanks!:thumbsup2

Can recommend the Celebration Town Tavern:

http://www.thecelebrationtowntavern.com/

Located on Front Street, plenty of parking opposite.

If you use the address on the site below, 721 Front St Celebration, FL 34747, you can get overhead views of the area.

enter address and postcode in 'Address, location and landmark', and then click on 'birds eye'.

We usually visit Celebration at least once in our trip. Last time the car park was full though so we had to find a spot on the street, but that was easy enough!
I actually only said to DH the other day that we should go on a Sunday to see the market.

For anyone that is feeling guilty leaving their beloved family pet behind we can thoroughly recommend the Dog Bark Bakery - which is on the main road through Celebration.
We got our dog Mason some good quality, natural treats that he loved when we got back. And then a couple of weeks ago he got a birthday card from the owners of the bakery :lmao:

No worries, have found it!
Market is closed August 2nd and 9th for their summer break and reopens 16th.:yay: we'll be able to visit when we're there! (Slight adjustment to out itinerary!)

We always visit at least once during our holiday.

We were there in October for a few hours letting the kids get soaked in the fountain and then having lunch at Market Street Cafe, we were sitting on the steps by the water waiting for the pager to go off when we all saw a flaming alligator swimming by :scared1:

My kids moved off the stairs pretty damn fast I can tell you :lmao:

Thank you all so much for all the info.

I am definately going to treat my doggies from dog bark bakery - thanks Kenny. :thumbsup2

I am going to try a fit in a visit on a Sunday so we can see the market too.

Great pics Paula Jane. :)

Thanks for that Johnny. :thumbsup2 When you look at that birds eye view, you have Market Street in the middle & car parks on both the left & right hand side - can you park in either or is one for residents only?

If you do park on the street remember that you MUST park facing the direction of travel. I have read about people getting fined in Celebration for parking facing the wrong way.

Hi Claire,

I actually parked in a disabled parking space close to the red X, using Joshua's parking permit but there were plenty of regular spaces free too.

Oh thanks Johnny. I am sure I will figure it out when I get there. :thumbsup2
