Celebration

No, but I'm ten minutes from WDW and very content with my neighborhood. Celebration is a very nice neighborhood, but a little to close to 192 for my liking.

Agree. We almost ended up living there It just has gotten a little too big for where we wanted to be. Still love the town and what is has to offer. Do love stopping over from time to time to eat and hang out for special events like when it snows. pirate:

I would be happy if I were closer to the Celebration/Orlando/Kissimee area. :)

No thanks. I think Celebration is way too expensive. I am a very quick ride down I-4 and I can be in the parks in no time.

I love where I live here in FL.

We were looking at Celebration when we were moving down here. The real estate agent gave us one of the newsletters. In the notices section were the fines from the HOA. One of the infracations was that fallen leaves were left on the ground for more than 48 hours. I think HOAs can be a good thing but we never went back. That was just a little too nit picky for me!

I didn't like the HOA, the "Stepford" feel, the zero lot lines, or the inflated prices. I bought twice as much house and yard for the money and love where I live. I don't have tourists driving through my nieghborhood looking around just because it's "Celebration."

So no thanks, I wouldn't want to live there.

I would consider it. In fact when I go in Feb we will be checking it out! :thumbsup2

I had interviewed for a teaching job there and was a little freaked out by the "Big Brother" aspect. I ended up a little further up I4 in Winter Park, FL and loved it. I think it is lovely to look at, but too manufactured to live in.

Gotta agree with the 'No' crowd. We looked at a couple of homes in Celebration before we bought our home in Orlando and thought they were way too little home for way too much money. Also didn't care for the overly 'sanitized' (read: Stepford) feel the town has. It's cute to visit but not so great (in our opinion) to have to live there.

We kept looking and we're glad we did. 3 minutes outside the back door to Disney with a view of Wishes and IllumiNations every night from our pool deck. New Year's Eve we can see everyone's fireworks (including Universal and SeaWorld) and on launch days we can see the shuttle go up from Kennedy Space Center. Plus, we have more than just rich white people for neighbors (I'm sure Celebration has some diversity, but it FEELS very one-dimensional).

I agree with this.

I would love to live there.

I've got some aunts & uncles who own a house & a condo there. The place is absolutely beautiful!!

I wouldn't want to live there either, the area is crazy traffic wise and way too close to 192, which I loathe. I also like living a bit from the parks and away from all the resorts, rental homes and tourists areas.

I love the town I live in and wouldn't want to live anywhere else in Florida.

I wanna live where you live! :thumbsup2

DH & I looked at Celebration when we were trying to figure out where in the country we wanted to live. Frankly the prices were way to high for what you got. The only word for it was OVERPRICED!

We ended up moving to TX instead, but if we do ever get to live in FL, I want to live in a nice neighborhood where I can watch Wishes & IlluminNations from my backyard!

Does anyone have pics to share?

It is the only area around Disney that we really liked so we bought here, but Florida is getting kind of old so we may be moving back North. If I had the money I would keep the place here too. Celebration is a lovely town. The HOA can't really do anything. They never even fine people from what we hear/see. There are plenty of infractions to go around. Usually the neighbors get on the persons case and they clean it up-not the HOA:)

Oh, we just won "American Dream Town" for 2007 too.
