Please let me know if you have stayed at this resort in Kissimmee. I just won at skyauction.com and know nothing about this resort. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks!! :cheer2:

I loved it.

but I loved it because it accepts pets - not in all the rooms.

I could bring Spicey and he could stay in the villa with me for a week for $50!!!

oh yea!!!

anyway here is their website
www.celebrationworldresort.com

the people at this resort were pretty wonderful. they definitely care and want this place to be a success.

Thanks for the information!! Unfortunately, our DS has really bad dog/cat allergies so hopefully there are pet free units as well. Has anyone else stayed at this resort? Thanks!!

I stayed there from May 20 to May 27. I don't have strong feelings one way or the other about the resort. I had a one-bedroom unit with what it considered a partial kitchen. The kitchen was more than adequate with 2 burners. I have stayed at the Vacation Village at Parkway where in the units with partial kitchens, it was a hotplate that was put in the cabinets. whereas at Celebration it was a real stove. I give Celebration pops for this.

The unit was clean and for the most part the resort was quiet although there was an incident one day when I was there. Somebody, I'm assuming a guest, had set off an alarm on a car. Everybody that were in the villas went outside to look. You could see some young kid, probably late teens to early twenties, running from the car. Unfortunately, this could happen anywhere, anytime.

I would stay there again but my first choices would be OLCC, DVC, Vistana, and HGVC among others. Orlando is blessed with a lot of nice resorts. Celebration is not bad, just not top tier. Other than swimming, I don't think there was much activities on the resort.

just got back from CWR on the 8th of July. I won my 1 bedroom on skyauction too. I checked in on July 1st at 2:30p - early & they had absolutely no problem with the early check in. I know they have 3 - 1 bedroom units, the junior, the senior & the executive. I was assigned a junior but asked as soon as I walked in for the executive but was told they did not have any available so she switched me to a senior - not much bigger but at least another 65+ sq ft (I think). Fridge was a tiny bit smaller than the regular house size but had PLENTY of room & nice size freezer - not by any means a mini fridge size you find in hotel rooms. had a 2 burner cook top & a convection/microwave oven. plates & silverware for 4 + the normal size pots & 1 pan - cheapo pan that burned the stuff you were cooking & wasnt nonstick. we ate breakfast in the condo every morning & lunch or dinner a couple times. oh & there is a small (says it could wash a large load)stackable washer/dryer in EVERY unit, regardless of the unit size

bedroom was on the small size, queen size bed - not pillow top which I am used to & had problems finding the bed to be comfortable. has a 27" tv + a vcr in an armoire with 2 or 3 drawers to stow your clothes. smallish closet (the kind you normally have in a spare bedroom, not walk in & had 2 folding doors to open but plenty of room for my daughter & my clothes ALL to be hung. oh - bring hangers as there are only about 8 supplied.

bathroom was a normal spare bathroom size, tub/shower combo. NO jacuzzi tub. One sink, lots of storage space w/ 3 drawers & cabnet underneath the sink. Had a small hairdryer attached to the wall. They provided 4 bathtowels, 4 hand towels & 4 washclothes. Paperwork said you can swap out the towels once during your stay for no charge but when I asked at the front desk they said I could anytime with no charge.

living room has a 3 cushion couch with a pull out queen size mattress, my daughter just slept on the couch, didnt use the pull out. 1 wicker chair with cushions, coffee table & a round dinette table with 4 chairs. 32" tv on a tv stand - no dvd player or vcr in the living room

I'm guessing I paid more than your winning auction as I did mine last minute for July 4th week - I paid $436 total & still felt it to be a good deal for the 4th week. No problems what so ever. I decided to do the time share speel - SO GLAD I DID ! ! ! I took an 8:00am appt - left my daughter to sleep in - I was back at my condo at 8:49am with an extra $120 CASH in my pocket. not high pressure at all - told them the interest rate was WAY too high - they said that was the only thing that they couldnt work with - gave me my $120 & I was on my merry way. another possible "trick" to my quick presentation may have been that I said I already ate breakfast (to save time) & said I have stayed in a different size unit before & have looked at their floorplans so I did not need to tour the resort.

They have a good bit of activities going on, definately do BINGO on Monday nite - every monday from 6-8 - decent prizes & TONS of pizza they order from Flippers - this was one of their FREE activities. they gave away a weeks stay at CBR free, & ended up giving 2 - 4 day cruise vouchers to the bahamas (2 people) as 2 people tied on the cruise BINGO. a few other prizes like gift baskets, candy, etc. They also have other things where they provide food too like a luaau one day & a pool party another, didnt do either so not sure what kind of food was provided.

Ask if you can be switched to the executive if they can - executive has a full kitchen + KING bed + jazucci tub & seperate walk in shower. living room has a big screen tv (46")

You'll enjoy your stay - this was my 2nd stay at the resort (stayed in a 1 bedroom executive the last time - maybe 2 years ago, booked thru hotelkingdom - which they no longer list) - read several recent bad reviews on tripadvisor but had NONE of the worries listed in the reviews.
Also, I dislike pets (sorry animal lovers) I HATE pet hair & did not find any at all in the unit I was assigned. The floors are all tile so no worries with pet dander in the carpets.

Have a great time!

ps WOW this was long - :earseek:

Thank you soooo much for the details!! You have made me very happy!! I was very nervous after reading the reviews on tripadvisor!! Now I feel a lot better!! Since my dh is 6'8"--the king size bed would be great!!

sorry for the 3rd post - forgot another important thing. if you are visiting the disney parks & find hwy 192 east to the disney exits to be busy with traffic, instead, at the light at the end of old lake wilson rd & 192, take a left onto 192 & then at the first stoplight (maybe a couple hundred feet) take a right on to Sherberth Rd, follow it around (maybe a mile?) to Osceola Pkwy, just before you get to Osceola Pkwy, you will see Disney Park signs pointing you to the way you need to go. It is not so important to go this way in the morning but found it MOST convenient going back at night as 192 was quite a parking lot & moving slow.
To find your way back to Sherberth Rd from the parks, follow the Disney signs to the Animal Kingdom & Animal Kingdom Lodge, (you will eventually be back on Osceola Pkwy), fork to the left passing AK Park, go up an overpass & you will see a stoplight, turn left at the light & you are back on Sherberth Rd. At the end of Sherberth Rd, then take a left on to 192 & then a right back on Old Lake Wilson Rd straight back to CWR. This "shortcut" was not hard to find at all & saved LOTS of time at night.
You'll be surprised how close CWR is to the Animal Kingdom Lodge once you get on Sherberth Rd so a dinner at Boma would be wonderful & close Disney buffet experience + you could get a chance to tour the AKL if you havent done so before. I bet the AKL is maybe a 5-7 minute drive from the CWR doorstep.

Be sure to grab an activity list when you check in to CWR or you will not get a chance to see all the activities they offer. They also have a moon walk jumping thing for kids a couple times a week too. They pretty much have activites every other hour from I think 10am to about 5 or 6pm depending on the day - most of them free.

Thank you cinamin for all of the great tips!! You have really helped us a lot!!
