Has anyone ever visited Celebration?
Are there restaurants there you enjoyed? What did you think of the town and did you find it interesting to visit?

I will have some free time next month when we are in Florida and I was always curious about Celebration.

TIA:)

We just got back from our Disney trip and we did get to go to Celebration.

Unfortunately, all we got to see was Celebration Health (the ER). DH ended up with 2 blood clots in his left leg and was flown to Florida Hospital (in Orlando) and spent almost the rest of our vacation at the hospital. :sad2: Hopefully our next trip to Disney won't be as "eventful".

We visited Celebration during Christmas of '07 its not far from Downtown Disney. Its a quainte perfect little town. There were decorated houses and yard ornaments as well. We drove through the expensive section of the homes and they were so pretty and perfect. There's at least one athlete who lives there. We didn't have time to stop and visit where the shops and food were, but it looked nice too as we drove by.

There is a great restaurant called, I think, the town tavern. Which is owned by the original owner of Kelly's kanding in boston...it has great new england fare

Thanks...I will make note of that!:thumbsup2

I have been there twice, with folks who are members here on the DIS and who live there. With one, we toured a bit around the town, looked at Celebration Hotel and then stopped at one of the al fresco dining places, I think it was Cafe D’ Antonio. Whatever it was, it was great. :thumbsup2

The other time, met up at the Celebration Starbucks for a morning of coffee and conversation.

Both visits were very nice. :thumbsup2

is it still owned by Disney?

Reminds me of Stafford Wives.

I think you mean "Stepford" and no, it's nothing like that.

Disney does not own the downtown area anymore, but they do still own a bunch of land in town they have yet to develop.

There are a bunch of restaurants, the Tavern and Cafe being our faves. And some nice shops.

Let me know when you'll be here and I'll see what's going on

:)

We love visiting Celebration whenever we have the chance. Great places to eat and we love taking walks there or just sitting by the lake. Nothing like Stepford in my opinion, definitely give it a try.

we ate breakfast at the chick -fil-a right at the gate when we were down there 2 weeks ago. Some high schoolers came in for lunch and they were so perfect and polite..

I've been there a few times and eaten at 3 or so different restaurants with absolutely nothing memorable to me. It's a cute little town but if I wasn't going to visit friends, I wouldn't bother with it.

Could there be just ONE thread that someone asks a simple question and someone doesn't respond with a snarky response?

Thank you to everyone who is giving some great info!

Celebration is pretty. If you do a house rental search, there are homes/condos in Celebration you can rent on a weekly basis.

We love Celebration! We've only ever driven through it so I can't help w/ recommendations but driving through is a great way just to enjoy this cute little town!!

As far as the "Stepford Wives" thing goes (or in this case, Stafford, :thumbsup2) my parents feel it's a little too perfect but DF and I love it! It's all about a preference in taste. :)

Darn - you'll miss Oktoberfest which is the weekend before. We've got nothing planned the weekend you are here.

Eh - happens every time.

Which, of course, is against the rules. But the good guys have Google too! :rotfl2: Usually, however, they say Celebration but they are actually in Poinciana or Kissimmee. Renter beware.

We spent a day browsing Celebration during our last Disney trip. I absolutely loved it! I'd live there in a heartbeat. It's amazingly beautiful. The town center has some beautiful shops that are a lot of fun to browse, and some great restaurants. And the houses are amazing. It's really interesting to see the different neighborhoods. I highly recommend stopping by.
