I've been waiting for Highway in the Sky, but just saw for the first time this morning that they are now having Celebration at the Top on both July 3rd and 4th and reservations are available.

Wonder which would be better for the 3rd and 4th- Celebration or Highway?

If you are interested in a continuous view of MK and 7 seas lagoon, culminating in fireworks, and don't mind "small plates", Celebration would be the pick.

If you want to drink around the lagoon, and have a full meal in stages, culminating with dessert on the balcony looking at the fireworks, Highway is your pick.

Seems like from what I have read that Highway in the Sky would be more value for dollar, but it has not been released for July yet (if it will be at all).

I have eaten at CG before but not tried Citricos.

I am trying to decide whether Celebration is worth the $136 to see the 4th of July fireworks. I think it would be neat to see them from CG since it is such a large fireworks display, but wondering whether I am better off eating at BOG for dinner then just watching from somewhere in the park. I could do BOG with a drink, dinner, and dessert for a lot cheaper than Celebration at the Top. I am not a big drinker, and I would be solo.

We keep checking for Highway in the Sky for July to celebrate our DD's 21st birthday. As of today--it is not available. A call to reservations resulted in a suggestion to email Disney to keep this event going as it looks like it has been stopped. So sad if this is true!

It's ridiculous there's no child price for this. The event includes alcohol - the price should be less for the kids. How can they justify charging the same for everyone?

I thought it was for 21 and over only?

Oh, I must have misread the know before you go section then.

Was thinking of doing this on the 4th as we'll be valeting at Contemporary for breakfast anyway but couldn't justify the price as one of us obviously wouldn't be able to drink. Made reservations at Narcoossee's instead to see the fireworks this year seeing as they still haven't released the dessert parties.

It just says 21 and older to consume alcoholic beverages.

Maybe to discourage people from bringing children. I usually travel with children, but it is nice to have some events tailored for adults. It is a lot cheaper to leave the kids at Lilo's, and the kids would probably have more fun there.

Children are welcome at California Grill. If they didn't want children, they could have set an age limit like they do with some other events.

Adult events are nice, but this is still
Disney World. And this event has light up glasses and glow cubes...not exactly "refined" or "adult".

I'm not leaving my children at Lilo's for the 4th of July. Not much fun leaving my autistic daughter with a bunch of strangers.

Just have to decide what works best for your family. We all have our own individual needs. The price may not be worth it if you want to have your kids with you, but it may also not be worth it for adults who are light or non-drinkers.

I just think it is reasonable to have a one price for all on an event like this. I am sure it was a business decision. A lot of what you pay for is the value of the private dining and viewing area, and there is limited seating for it. If Disney can get $136 per seat for it and fill it up, there is little reason to offer it for a lower price for some guests, regardless of their age or drinking habits.

For adults with kids, it is probably better to just get a regular reservation at Cali Grill. As some reviewers of this event have pointed out, that might be a better value for most people.
