Friday February 6th 2009

We woke around 7.30am after a good night’s sleep and found that there was a frost on the ground outside!

After having cereal and getting dressed, trousers and long sleeved top we headed off to DHS. We arrived at DHS just after 9am and it was really quiet.

The sky was a lovely blue but in the shade the cold did bite a bit. First stop was ToT and Fastpass for RnR. After ToT we headed off to see the Muppets, always fun and then went on RnR. I found some topiaries about and got a picture of Snow White with one of the dwarfs.

It was now nearly 11.30am and feeling hungry we headed off to DTD and the Earl of Sandwich, stopping by at SSR to collect the car. Once at the EoS the lunchtime queues had not quite formed yet and Nathan had his usual of the Hawaiian and I had the Full Montague :thumbsup2

We had a brief wander around DTD and SSR looked so pretty in the sunshine :)

After this we did some shopping at the Premium Outlets.

Then food shopping was needed at Publix.

Once back at SSR the fridge was duly stacked!

It was now 5.30pm and the sun was slowly setting.

As is tradition for our first night in Florida outside WDW we went to Red Lobster for dinner and shared the starter of mozzarella sticks and stuffed mushrooms.

I then had the salmon and shrimp combo with jacket potato.

Nathan had the Rainbow Trout with fries.

After a lovely meal we went back to SSR to decide on the following days plans at which point I realised I had forgotten to transfer the itinerary to the laptop and also had not posted it anywhere online! So other than the definite ADR bookings we generally went with the flow for the rest of the holiday!!

Claire ;)

All that planning out the window. :scared1: :rotfl: I love the view from your studio.

A nice first day. I could really go eating at Red Lobster now:thumbsup2

I see you have the essentials in your frig. Fresh fruit, pop, wine and... :drinking1

Looking forward to the next installment.

Great report so far :thumbsup2

Last time we went to DLRP, I had an itineray wallet with the printed park hours/ plans etc in. Ended up leaving it on my bed

Nooooooooooooo,no itinery :scared1:

 .
Your food looks delicious,i am not a big fish eater so have'nt eaten at Red Lobster.
DHS looks so empty.x.

I love your photos, especially the one of the Premium Outlet Mall, it brought back so many happy memories of days spent wandering around there - I love that place, so many bargins!

Looking forward to the next installment.

Tina

after all the months planning :surfweb:
left it behind you
I thought I was the only one that done things like that :rotfl2:

Frost in WDW :scared1:
Thanks for the great photos

I remember that frosty Friday morning well. We had arrived on the Tuesday, and the Friday was the first morning we had wolen up and had to scrape the ice off the car windows.
Good pics from EoS as well. Hawaiian is also my fave - whereas DW prefers the Full Montague. My mouth is watering already.
Can't wait to see what you ate yesterday :goodvibes

Lovely day Claire. I enjoy going to the EoS, we went for the first time in December and it has been placed into a family tradition event now. I didn't do an itinerary for our December trip for the first time since our first visit and found it so relaxing. I did have busy days written down and EMH dates to avoid. We are just going to do the same in July and just go where everyone wants to go for that day (subject to busy days though).

LOVIN' your TR :cloud9: nicely loaded fridge! the shops look empty. shame you forgot your intinery...I think I would go into meltdown!...might have to restock the fridge ;)

loving the Saratoga photos and the food ones

Great start to your trip, although I see you were wasting some space in the bottom of your fridge that could have held some more essentials rather than fruit(lol).

Enjoying all your photos. The food ones especially are giving me lots of ideas :thumbsup2

Really enjoying your reports - can't imagine frost at SSR - it's always been boiling when we've been!
