The alarm clock went off at 5.30am and we were off to the airport by 6am, arriving slightly after 7.30am. As we had done twilight checkin all that was needed was to go through security and off to the Clubhouse Lounge.
Once at the lounge treatments were booked for our massages and we sat down for breakfast. It was quite busy in the Clubhouse today but service was prompt and I had smoked salmon and champagne. While Nathan had the bacon sandwich, orange juice and tea
After this we had our massages and then found a locker to stow our carry on items in. The flight was a little delayed so we had time to relax and wander round the terminal to do some shopping. I got a pair of shorts in Next and some make up in Boots
The snow was still just on the ground at Gatwick.
It was then time for some more food and I had the bacon sandwich and Nathan had the sausage sandwich, which he followed with a hot chocolate.
Soon it was time to board and we took off about an hour late. As we had eaten a fair bit in the lounge lunch was not something we ate a great deal of.
Time seemed to drag and about 5 hours into the flight we were over Canada.
We were much further inland than usually, probably due to weather conditions on the coast.
It was amazing to see the scenery change from empty land to towns and cities.
Soon the snow line appeared and we were well and truly heading south.
Prior to landing we had afternoon tea.
Although we had taken off late we arrived only a little bit late. It was then straight through immigration and our cases were soon off and then customs was a walk through. As we had two large cases each we left them on the conveyer belt and caught the shuttle over to the main terminal. This time we noticed that the collection belt was downstairs right by the Dollar desk so by the time we had got the car collected the cases were coming off. Within an hour of arriving we were on our way to WDW. The sky was clear but the temperature was cool.
