Celebrating TEN AND THIRTY!!!

I am so excited! This is my very first pre~trip report (or trip report at all)!

First off, I guess I should introduce myself. My name is Kim and I am married to my wonderful husband Jason. We have two kids, our daughter Kali (9 1/2) and our son Alex (4 1/2). This past May we took our first (for all of us!) trip to WDW. We had just as much fun as our kids did! It only took about a month after returning to decide that this was the place to celebrate our TENTH wedding anniversary. We did not have a honeymoon and we had always said we would go on a trip or a cruise for this anniversary. So, WDW HERE WE COME!!!

Our anniversary is July 10th, and my birthday is June 11th. I will be turning THIRTY right before our trip. This is why I have titled my trippie as CELEBRATING TEN AND THIRTY.

I hope you can bare with me, as I will probably have a few errors since this is my first report.

As any fanatic does, I think about WDW at least 20 times a day! I come to DIS atleast five times. I go to the "official WDW site" a couple times a day, too. Not really sure *why*, it is just my fix, I guess. So for more about our trip.....

As of now, we plan to fly out of Nashville on Sunday, June 29th, and return on Sunday, July 6th. The dates may change by a day or two since Jason will not find out his work schedule for next year until the middle of December. He works a rotating shift...it gets confusing some times. As you can tell from above, this is my first time flying. I AM VERY NERVOUS ABOUT THIS!!! Not because of anything particular, I have just never liked the idea of being that far up in the air. I don't like heights or bridges either. I usually hold my breathe until we are over any bridges.

We plan on staying at POP CENTURY. We stayed here last time and had a great experience. I admit that the moderate and deluxes seem wonderful, but for what little time we actually spend in our room, we just can't justify spending that much money to sleep in a room. I loved the atmosphere at POP, as well as the theme. It was great.

We also plan on getting a 7 day park hopper. I know some people think they are a waste, but we like and use them. Jason and I both love Epcot and plan to spend any extra time there by hopping when possible. We also use the hopper for the night shows.

We will be joining and using AAA for this trip. I figure since we are going during the summer season this will be the only discount we will be able to find. We will be booking our flight ourselves, as this seems to be cheaper than booking it thru AAA. Southwest has great online only rates.

We will be booking everything as soon as we know for sure what crew/shift Jason will be on......I look at the calendar everyday to see how long it is 'til booking day.

I know how you feel about celebrating your honeymoon so late. We only waited until our 8th Anniversary and went to Sandal's Resorts in Jamaica. I think it make your appreciate the trip just that much more because you have to wait so long for it.

And by the way, your DIS addiction is completely normal!!

UGH!!! Just typed out a big post and it is GONE! Oh well....

I guess I should spread out my pre~trippie since our trip is so far away. Well, not THAT far away....ONLY 217 DAYS!

So, I have been thinking about ordering an anniversary cake to surprise Jason with when we check in. There are some awesome looking cakes on here!!! CAKES!!! The thing is, niether of us are big eaters, let alone sweets. But I was thinking that maybe if I get a small one, just big enough to "customize", we could eat on it a few days. That way it would not get old, and we could still enjoy a special anniversary treat from THE WORLD.

I have also been thinking about ADRs. Like mentioned above, we aren't big eaters~more like snackers, I suppose. We will probably just grap food from POP's food court most of the time. However, I think it would be nice to have one really romantic dinner while we are there. Hmmmm...I guess I will just have to browse some menus and see what we can decide on together. I am sure there is something there we both like.

Okay~I guess that is enough to ponder on for now. Til next time!

WOO HOO HOO!!! (in my very best Tigger voice) I just booked out trip and got a confirmation number! I am beyond excited right now! We are booked for Pop Century, June 30th~July 6th with a 6 day park hopper. I asked the CM (who was VERY VERY nice) to make a note of our anniversary and my birthday. He then asked me which was more important. I told him my anniversary, of course. He laughed and said I noted both. He was very helpful and funny. Now, if Southwest would hurry up and open my dates for our flights, we will be set!
