Celebrating Our 2nd Anniversary at WDW!!- PTR Update 11/1/2010 with TR Link!!

As far as I know, bell services will hold your stuff if your room is not ready. What i usually do is pack my carry on as my park bag, that way we can get to the hotel and just book it to a park.

I can't remember how many days your going for but one piece of advice i can give you is for your first day at MK take is slow! Don't try to fit in a ton of rides, do the stuff that has short waits and really just take it all in. Especially for first timers! My DBF and I also have lots of fun on the kiddie rides as well! It's all park of the MK expierance to us!

Cosmic Rays is an excellent choice! We LOVE it here. The variety is awesome and the fixins bar is to die for! I'm partial to the pulled pork sandwhich but really everything is quite tasty!

For Spectro it kind of depends on how fast you want to get out of the park. Main Street is going to be the most crowded but if you can get a spot by Tony's right near the exit you can book it out right after. If you plan on staying then I would stake out a different spot that might be less crowded. I'm not the best to give advice on where to sit for the parades, we always end up just watching them by mistake!

Best advice I can give, like I said, is just take it slow your first day! And eat lots of yummy things!

Have you got yours yet?

You must be so excited! Been going to WDW since I was 4 but DH first time was our honeymoon back in 08, we went last yr for our anniversary with my two teens but this yr we are going next month for our second anniversary alone and I cant wait! Your gonna fall in love all over again and return every yr! LOL

Yes I'm very excited! I was already looking into a trip in January lol.

Wow thanks for all your help! I am planning on trying to keep it slow. But I think my excitement may take over and I will try to do everything. I think I will plan on Cosmic Rays then. :). Thanks again for all the info I greatly appreciate it!

Sounds like good plans for the first day.
The Main Street Bakery is yummy. :]
For Peter Pan's Flight, you might be better off going to that early in the morning on your full day because the wait time can get high. I've seen 90 minutes in the afternoon/evening for this ride. I went in the morning (around 9:30) and only waited 5-15 minutes. All the other rides, with the use of fastpasses, you should get most of them done!
Cosmic Ray's is great. One of my favorite QS's at MK. Columbia Harbor House is great also. It's very pretty & quiet inside, unlike Cosmic Ray's which can get a little crazy inside, but the food is excellent though.
Sounds like you'll have a fun filled first day!! :)

Ok good! I am a sweet junkie, so Mainstreet BAkery will likely become my favorite.Wow I think Peter Pan will def. be one we get a fastpass for. I think my max wait I could do would be 30 min. I think Cosmic Rays sounds good then , but will use Columbia Harbor House as a back up.

Hi there! Welcome to the oh so addicting but ever so fun DIS boards! :) I joined after reading a book on Disney World I got from the library and I haven't looked back since. :rotfl:

DH and I will be there two weeks after you leave. We spent part of our honeymoon in Disney World (in May '09) and then we went again in December '09 and we are going again in Oct '10! I promised DH, next year NO WDW. We'll see how our financial situation is, though.

We are the same way about traveling. We love to travel and we don't have kids yet so we are using our extra $$ for traveling. :)

Your Day 1 plans sound good! I didn't like Cosmic Rays but I also got the Chicken Dinner. I heard Pecos Bills is good. I'm sure you've been to allears.net to check out the menus right? :)

Thanks! I just went to your PTR and it looks like I have lots of catching up to do. Maybe that will be my project tonight :).

I bet the weather in October is amazing. I would have gone then instead but really wanted to spend our anniversary on vacation. I just hope it isn’t too hot while were there. I wish I had that many vacations planned at once that would feel amazing! I have so many places I want to go before we have kids. I think our next trip might be a cruise on Oasis. I'm super anxious to see how big it is, and well it’s been 7 months since our last cruise, so I'm really having withdraw lol ( we love cruising) Who knows maybe we will love Disney and make that our next trip. I promised myself to wait until we got back until we make any final plans.

I actually glanced at the menus but that’s about all. I'm kinda going to wing it. I figure if the restaurant has good reviews I should be able to find something I like.

Thanks again for joining in, I will be visiting your PTR soon! :woohoo:

I have a feeling the weather will still be pretty hot in October but we'll see. The December 2009 trip was last minute, we planned it in less than 6 weeks. :scared1: We had a cruise booked for over NYE for a great price (I still want to kick myself for cancelling) but I couldn't get WDW out of my mind as it was shortly after I found the DIS boards. :)

I'm the same way. I won't decide on our next vacation until after we get back from this trip. I think I am going to let DH choose. We made a list of all of the places we want to go to and I am going to price them all and then we can see where our budget is and choose from there (or he can, I mean :rotfl:). My DH is the same way though, definitely go with the flow! :)

We aren't going to be so commando on this trip either. When we get to the parks we'll decided what we feel like doing. I'm hoping the crowds won't be that bad but if they are, then we will just get lots of FP and enjoy every minute. :cloud9:

What cruise line do you suggest? We are wanting to go on our next trip over our second anniversary (late May 2010) and a cruise might be it (or Myrtle Beach) as the cost is pretty reasonable for what we can afford right now. I'd love any input you can give! :)

Today marks one month!!!:cheer2:

I have some updates I want to make, but I need to spend today studying for my Real Estate exam tomorrow:eek:..wish me luck!!!!

Great start!
My only 2 cents (well you asked!) is that if you are arriving in Orlando at 10am coming from Ohio it means you'll be starting your day at least with an 8am flight. You will probably be hungry for an actual meal before dinner time. I would suggest even just splitting something at POP before going to the MK (you can still get your Bakery snack!) and that way you can check out POP for a bit too!

Can't wait for more!! :)

Your day 1 plans sound so great! That's awesome that you'll get there so early--you have almost a whole day in the parks! :thumbsup2

They will definitely hold your bags until your room is ready. You can go ahead and check in, and then they'll call you to let you know when you can get into your room.

If you want a little break from the MK and want to get away from the crowds, you can take the monorail or the ferry or walk over to the Contemporary and eat at the Contempo Cafe. We did this last year and LOVED it! It's around a 5-7 minute walk, and their pepperoni flatbread was our favorite of the whole trip! :thumbsup2

If you get there early enough, you should watch Spectro in front of the Liberty Bell. It may or may not have a rope up, but you can stand there where the sidewalk from the Liberty Bell meets the street. A lot of people don't know this is a place to stand. It's right next to the roped off reserved section there (or at least it was when we went).

And we loved seeing Wishes from the Hub (the circle in front of the Castle) because it was the perfect Castle/Fireworks picture. Since it's just the two of you, you should be able to find a good spot! Head over there right after Spectro.

You're going to LOVE Walt Disney World!!!

Just wanted to say that I :cheer2:PASSED!! :cheer2: I ended up with a 90 on State and 86 on National. I'm so excited! I have been very stressed and it will be nice to have it out of the way to concentrate on what really matters….Disney of course!! :) I will be on tomorrow with lots of updates and I have a lot of catching up to do on all the reports I'm reading as well. I'm off to dinner (Texas Roadhouse...my fav!! ) with Bri followed by Dinner with Schmucks (my two favorite actors!!) It's going to be a great night :) Thanks again for all the good luck wishes..you guys are great :grouphug:

Mmm...I love the rolls and cinnamon butter from Texas Roadhouse. I end up eating like 3 bites of my dinner b/c I eat so many rolls. :rotfl:

Congratulations! :cool1:

I love Paul Rudd. Have you seen Forgetting Sarah Marshall? I know he doesn't have a huge role in that one but it's one of our favorites. Also, we like I Love You Man. What about Date Night? My DH hasn't seen it yet but I did and I really enjoyed it. I think I'm going to see The Other Guys this weekend. I love me some Will Ferrell too. :)
