So, I am FINALLY getting around to writing my trip report. For those that missed it, my pre-trip report link is in my signature. I should have done it sooner, but in doing so I would acknowledge to myself that the trip and the excitement were over. I know, pathetic right?:confused3 Anyway, let me get organized here then I will post Day 1- MK and Epcot.

So in case you haven't read the pre-report let me fill you in. My sister (KittieKat) and me went on a 4 day trip to WDW June 10-14th. We stayed in Pop Century Hotel. We were celebrating our 21st birthday (although our birthday was technically May 19th, but we got our tickets for our birthday and with school we couldn't go until then).

We are Disney freaks to the max, been there so many times I can't count! We were so excited to be able to go and just with us! I will try and remember everything that happened (its been a little while) and Im starting to get excited about my next trip, my family RV'ing to Fort Wilderness for December 21-27! Yay!

Stay Tuned: Day 1- Butt Crack of Dawn, just how early is that?

So it's June 10th and its roughly 4am. Our SW flight leaves Columbus Airport at 625 am so we get ready and get to the airport around 5 am. We check in, make it through security, stand in a long line to get some much needed starbucks coffee, then plop down in our gate. As you can see the lack of sleep hasn't hit us yet.

Oops, my eyes are closed, lets try that again.

Thats better.
So we get on our flight and prepare to leave at the stated 625 am stated departure time but then the captain comes over the loudspeaker. He informs us that a "door won't shut", he said it isn't dangerous but we can't fly without it shut so he calls maintenance to come over and fix it. 45 minutes later and some loud banging noises the captain announces that we are ready to take off. Besides that there were no problems with our flight and we arrived in Orlando Airport around 9am.

We make our way down to the Magical Express desk only to find out that I had packed our vouchers in our packed luggage. I was nervous that we were going to have a problem but the people at disney are fantastic! They made us new vouchers and off to Pop Century we went!

I loved this hotel soo much. I think the larger than life icons made it seem really cool. We checked in and of course they said our room wasn't ready, but that it would be ready by 3 and they gave us a number to call. So we got in line to head over to MK.

We made it to MK successively and started towards Tomorrowland. First we saw Monster's Inc. Laugh Floor Comedy Club which I absolutely love. "I'm watching...ALWAYS watching." :rotfl:

After that we went and got fastpasses for Space Mountain. Since we had a little bit until we could ride them we hit up Stitch's Great Escape and then since it was getting around lunchtime we ate at Cosmic Ray's. By now the heat was really starting to beat down on us, we haven't been to Disney in the summer for a long time and wasn't used to it. We finished out tomorrowland by riding Buzz Lightyear and Carousel of Progress.

Only having a hour or so before the afternoon parade (and not wanting to get caught in it) we finished up MK by riding the Haunted Mansion. I really like the changes and updates they had made, besides for the long and sweltering line it was really good. We weaved out of MK while people were starting to sit down for the parade. By this point we were really tired, we had gotten like 3 hrs of sleep the previous night and the sun had just taken it out of us. We had called a few times to see if our room was ready but to no avail. So we show up and buy our refillable mugs and get some icees. After a frustrating and tiring 45 minutes later (all we wanted to do was take a nap in the A/C), we called again and our room was finally ready. I was glad that we had gotten the building that I had requested, The Big Wheel Building. We got into our room and quickly fell asleep.

What happened during our nap? Check back for the next installment!

Great update! I am the same way get there and get on a bus! Great start!

I'm here :yay: I love the Haunted Mansion's changes to! Waiting for the rest of day 1...

So when I left you it was our first day at WDW and after a few hours in MK we were pooped and had to go back to our room and take a nap or we were not going to survive. So we headed up to our room and quickly fell asleep, only to be woken up by the scariest thunderstorm ever! I am not kidding, there was a ton of lightning and thunder and it sounded like at one point that the lightning was touching down like right outside of our room. I opened the door and it looked like a monsoon, it was pouring so hard. I'm just glad that it rained while we were napping and not while we were at the parks. :goodvibes

So after our much needed nap we decide to hit up Epcot for the evening EMH. It has pretty much stopped raining, save a light sprinkling. First we hit up the new Spaceship Earth, which I really liked. Although the first time I rode it I had no idea they took your picture on the first ascent, so our faces looked horrible. After that our stomachs were rumbling so Steph and I headed over to China to eat at the QS restaurant. We got the orange chicken and it was delicious! After dinner we went back to Mexico to get out first beer (in WDW...). Here it is captured by photo before Illuminations.

After we finished our beers, we went back through Future World and made pit stops at Imagination, Test Track, The Seas with Nemo and Friends, and Turtle Talk.

Then we decided to goof off a bit on our way out.

We headed home and crashed in our beds.

Come back for Day 2!

Mmm...drinking around the world.

I am so glad you liked the new Spaceship Earth. I am nervous about it because it was one of my very favorite EPCOT rides ever! Look forward to reading more of your trip report! I have a feeling that my sister and I will make our own trip to Disney by ourselves too--we're 26 and 35 and I know we would have so much fun! It wouldn't be so bad leaving kids and husbands behind.
