This cruise will be our first as a family. Our newly adopted 8 yr old son (Dec. 22nd) has never been Disney before... we grew up in Florida and basically lived at Disney as kids. Any suggestions on things we can do to make it extra special for him??

You won't need to do much to make it extra special for him. DCL itself is extra special!::yes::

You've come to the right place, as the ideas and tips on these boards are endless.

Where does one begin? A lists of don't miss:

the sailaway party, the character breakfast (if doing the 7-day), snorkeling on Castaway Cay..

I'm sure many others will add to this!

my advice would be to tell DCL that you are celebrating his joining your family. My son has a friend who is 7, and was adopted from Russia. They celebrate his birthday, but they also celebrate what they call his "gotcha day"...obviously the day that they got him from the orphanage. That might be something to consider....letting DCL know that you're celebrating his "gotcha day"...even though it's a couple of months late.
