I just decided on dates for my October trip to WDW - we are going to be there from October 19th through the 27th and my DS 5 asked me if we can celebrate his birthday there. My problem is that his birthday is on September 11th and we usually have a party for him then and then a small family thing on November 30th which is the day he came home from the NICU (he was a 28 weeker). The coming home party is more cake with dinner and is more a private celebration for me and DH but it apparently makes him think is birthday lasts a really long time
.
So the question is - is it acceptable to get him the birthday button, tell Chef Mickey's it's his birthday dinner, etc when it was a month earlier? I wouldn't even think of it except he asked. My other alternative is to buy a birthday cake and celebrate that way with any additional fanfare.
What do you all think?

Realize, though, that everyone and their mother has a button of some sort at WDW these days. They aren't quite as special as they used to be.
I'll celebrate his birthday at Disney and he'll have the time of his life especially since he likes to talk to everyone.
