We are taking a trip in October for my DD's 10th! birthday!

This is a big one - you only turn double digits once! :thumbsup2

What are some special things we can do?

I plan on getting a birthday cake, but not sure at what restaurant yet.

I remember reading something a few years back about a chocolate Cinderella slipper dessert thing? Do they still do that?

We've made a note of it on our room requests as well, and I'll mention it at check in as well. (we currently have ressies at BLT, but might be changing to AKV 7 months out if there's room. Is she more apt to getting a surprise (towel animal perhaps?) at one place or the other?)

We'll get a birthday button - we hoped to wear it to the parks when we do autographing so that the characters will maybe write her a special message. Would that be okay?

has anyone done gift baskets before? Is there a good website for reasonably priced ones?

We aren't having a birthday party for her this year - the trip is her present. :rotfl:

Thanks everyone!

1. What are some special things we can do? Try BBB (Bibbidy Bobbidy Botuque) if your daughter is still into dress up and hair and makeup. It is basically a princess makeover and photo shoot.
2. I remember reading something a few years back about a chocolate Cinderella slipper dessert thing? Do they still do that? you used to could get this dessert at Cinderella's Royal Table but I beleive it has been discontinued, it is no longer showing on teh menu.
3. Is she more apt to getting a surprise (towel animal perhaps?) at one place or the other?) no its completely random and up to the mousekeepers on duty that day. Some have reported getting more Towerl animals when they tip though.
4. We'll get a birthday button - we hoped to wear it to the parks when we do autographing so that the characters will maybe write her a special message. Would that be okay? Sure why not. But I would recommend an autograph book to collect the messages.
5. has anyone done gift baskets before? Is there a good website for reasonably priced ones? Nope. There is a Disser that offers this service and will deliver to the rooms, but I can't think of who it is.
6. We aren't having a birthday party for her this year - the trip is her present. :rotfl: I'd take this as my Bday present/party ANYTIME!

Thank you for all the tips! We did BBB a few years ago and I really didn't think it was worth it. :rolleyes1

Yes, we will be using autograph books, although I did consider just using an arm and a leg perhaps. With sharpies of course, so it will stay on longer!! ( my DD asked if Genie could zap his autograph onto her arm last trip. :rotfl:)

Hi,

I have a friend turning 40 this year and we are planning a trip to the MK for her birthday. Her husband is in IRAQ and still wanted to do something special. We found this Disney Website that has great birthday celebration options with some that deliver to your room. Disney Florist has a website but I don't have enough posts on the board to include the link.

disneyflorist

Hope it helps

We got the cinderella's slipper dessert last year, through the bakery. If you look for the "cake" threads, the number will be there, along with all the kinds of cakes. At the time, you could only get the slipper if dining at CRT or 1900 Park Fare. Disney Florist.com has alll kinds of things, from an "in room celebration", they actually will come to your resort room and set things up, to gift baskets. We did a Mickey's Welcome last year. It was $$$$, but worth it for a once in a lifetime thing. There is also a site called Memories by Betsy that does gift baskets.

If you keep your stay at BLT, check the in room dining stuff offered by the contemporary, too. They have chocolate characters, choc covered strawberries, etc.

If you really want to spend the $$$, there is a service called Gifts of a Lifetime. Not sure what they do, but a budget event is around $175, I think.

You could also check out something cool from Sammy Duvall Watersports, at the CR, maybe a parasail for her b'day?

Once you make an ADR for the birthday meal, I would call that location, and speak to someone there. Talk to them about what you might could do???
