Since dessert is included on DDP is there anything different with the dessert when we have a celebration?

If it helps, we are eating at:
Aloha
CRT
Le Cellier
Hoop De Doo Review
Teppan Edo or San Angel
BOG
CM

I was going to select DD's favorite restaurant or characters to celebrate her bday but if there is a place to make it more special then I would note it in that resie.

Are you asking if a restaurant will do anything to acknowledge the birthday or are you saying you are planning your own celebration and want to know if a particular restaurant would be better than another?

Your DD can wear her birthday button and Castmembers throughout DW will wish her a Happy Birthday. As far as whether a restaurant or server will acknowledge the birthday, there is no guarantee even if you note it on the reservations. We've had some meals where there was a special dessert, confetti on the table, a card or champagne and many others where there was absolutely no recognition at all. With more than half the visitors to DW celebrating a birthday, anniversary, wedding, graduation, first visit, family reunion, memorable life milestone there is no way Disney could acknowledge everyone so it is up to the restaurant or server.

If you have your own celebration planned, I would pick the restaurant with your DD's favorite characters or BOG or CRT. You can look at the info on the cake thread if you plan to order a special cake or many TS restaurants have a small cake available for purchase at the podium. CRT has special packages and desserts that can be pre-ordered.

We ate at all these restaurants except the luau and San Angel on a recent birthday trip and we were on the DxDDP. The only two ***on that list*** (other restaurants we visited offered other things) that acknowledged my birthday with a "free" special touch was CM (cupcake) and Le Cellier (chocolate banner on top of my dessert). We paid extra to order a chocolate slipper and white chocolate crown at CRT ($12.50 and a delightful experience). HDDR celebrates all birthdays and anniversaries in a fun way. My DH ordered a cake at Cali Grill (mediocre) but they happily sent our included desserts home with us where they made a great breakfast.

I would note it on all the ADRs (why not? ;)) but I would also plan to pay to do something special if you absolutely want her birthday acknowledged at any specific place.

I had dinner at the Land in 2014 on my birthday and I got a special dessert (on the ddp) and a birthday card from Mickey!!!

Thanks for the info. I guess I was asking both questions regarding acknowledging bday. I like the idea of the slipper at CRT since it something special especially in the castle.

I assumed she meant Garden Grill...I got a signed birthday card there with the characters.

If you want to guarantee acknowledgement, pay for some kind of package.

Other than that it's a toss up. I'd go in expecting nothing so you aren't disappointed.
