So..... I learned from my previous thread that wrapped gifts are a no no at DL. So for those of you that have celebrated a birthday at DL do you forget the presents or just do gift bags?

Obviously we could do gifts at the hotel but we have planned a "birthday dinner" and I thought it would be nice to have 2 or 3 gifts there at the table to open during out meal.

i guess wrapped gifts could be considered "dangerous", since they don't know what could possibly be in there...w/all the security & what not...

what about a disney gift card, so that the b-day boy/girl would be able to buy something for him/herself? that would be a cool gift! well, going to dl in itself is a cool gift!!

btw, you can get a b-day button from city hall...so don't forget to stop by there! have a fun celebration!! :flower:

That is the way to go if you want to do the birthday celebration at the park. We did DGD's 8th birthday at DL last year and had the cake party at the Pavillion and gave her birthday gift cards for her to use on whatever she wanted. She loved that and had the best time shopping.

Normally, I would agree that a gift card is always the best way to go but my DD is only turning 1 ....so aside from chewing on the card, she probably won't have much fun shopping and using it on herself

I was thinking of getting her a stuffed Minnie and a little charm for her charm bracelet and maybe a small book to open at the table.

The gifts you mentioned (all except the stuffed) are rather small--what about also bringing in your bag a couple folded sheets of wrapping paper and the tape?? Then just "excuse" yourself for five minutes before the cake--that way you can wrap and she can tear them open as only a 1 year old can... :thumbsup2

Michael,

Yes, I think that is what I will do. BTW, we'll see you at DL since we will be there Nov 1-5!! We can't wait!

oh, she's only turning one!! yup...shopping is not the same for a one year old!! you can just buy the gifts at the store in dl, and just hand her the bag! of course, then, you won't have pix of her "tearing open" the presents.

how exciting!!! have a great time! :flower:

Hey; that's great!! We're sort of celebrating everyone's birthdays this time, too. In order, they are:

Me; Oct 6 (34)
SIL Kelli; Oct 18 (24)
Bro Nick; Oct 21 (25)
Mom Bonnie; Oct 28 (29.23)... 29.23 = 23rd anniversary of 29th bday..
Nephew Andy; Nov 17 (4)
SIL's mom, Deb; Nov 18 (29.24)

Bro Bob is the one oddball; his birthday is Feb 13..... (Kel and Andy are his fam)

Anyway; Happy Early Birthday to your little one!!

Michael. :figment:
