Celebrating a birthday at Coral Reef?

Ok I have a nephew who loves "The Aquarium" Restaurant and we will be at WDW on his birthday. Now that being said I am thinking that he would love the Coral Reef even more. Do they do anything special there, I have heard mention of the diver....what do they do?

Also do they only offer the "Sara Lee" type cakes or can you get a good cake from one of the bakeries?
