My daughter will be 13 this fall and wants to celebrate with a weekend trip to Disney. Which resort appeals to this age group? Are there any resorts within walking distance to any of the parks?
We have never stayed onsite before, any tips you could share would be great.
Thanks

All the Epcot resorts are walking distance to Epcot and a little long ways to MGM. Or you can take the boat ride to Epcot and MGM.

Contemporary resort is a walking distance to MK or you can take the monorail there.

WL is just a boat ride away to MK or you can take the bus there.

GF and Poly are also very close to MK. You can either boat it or take the monorail. Poly is walking distance to TTC if you want to take the monorail to Epcot. GF and Contemporary, take the monorail to TTC and chance monrail to Epcot.

POFQ and POR uses the bus to go to everywhere. You can take the boat or the bus to Downtown Disney.

Are you looking for a deluxe resort that is very close to the park? Which park will you be visiting the most?

Epcot resorts and MK resorts are great if you want closeness to Epcot or MK.

We will be there 3 days and are planning to visit all the parks.
I thought it would be easier to walk to a park and then catch a bus to the other parks. Is getting around really as complicated as it sounds?

Sorry if my post sounded complicated. But it really is not complicated at all to take the bus anywhere.

My favorite is Polynesian because I think it has the best transportation. If you like the tropical south pacific themeing, then this is the perfect resort for you. You can watch the fireworks from the beach or from the Ohana restuarant. YOu can watch EWP (electric water pageant) from the beach as well.

If she loves swimming, BC and YC, I heard has the best pool! This is an Epcot resort. Epcot fireworks are visible from these two resorts.

If you love the Pacific Northwest themeing, then WL is for you. It's like camping, but more luxurious.

I am very sure there will be other who will be chiming in and will give you more infos and on other resorts as well.

My son is 13 and his favorite is the CR. We have visited all the resorts (since we can't afford to stay at all of them) over the years and this has always been his favorite. We stayed there last year at Xmas and it was great to be able to walk to MK and a quick ride to Epcot on the monorail (even though we had to change at TTC)
