Celebrating 9 days with my 4 kids(7,6,4,2)May 2009, I know I'm late starting this TR

Im sorry Soarin made you feel icky. I love this ride, but I get a little dizzy during the "going up" through the clouds part. I have found that if I keep my eyes shut until we get up over the clouds, then I am fine. I just have whoever Im riding with tell me when we are up. Dont know why that makes a difference, but it does for me.
I hate hearing that the heat was so bad. That is what I am afraid of when we go in May. We usually go in the winter months since we dont like the heat, but with my oldest in college, we have to go on her breaks or during the summer. I figured we would try the day after she gets out of college, but Im thinking we may melt in May:rotfl:

Next time I will try that, waiting until I get above the clouds. Hopefully that will work.

I do hope it is not so hot for you. We said that next time we go we will probably go when it is cooler, all though I do love the water parks!! You should definitely schedule some water park days to break up the heat! I couldn't imagine going during the summer with heat and lines. At least in May the lines aren't bad.

I noticed that your ticker says your vacation is closer than the kids think. I am curious as to when they think you are leaving? I have always said I would love to surprise my kids, but I can't keep a secret at all. I get way to excited.

Great update from yesterday! Okay, why does my DH wear his camaflouge (sp?) shorts with his disney shirts while there? Lol. Sorry, it's just funny to me.

I love Le cellier. OMG, when we were there last July, Madi hadn't had her nap and she was straight cutting up in that restaurant. Somehow she tricked me to getting her out of her high chair. She hightailed it through the restaurant laughinig and screaming. I was SOOOOOOOOOOOOO embarrassed! I wanted to cry and I was 5 months preggos! Lol.

Okay, let me read your next update!!

Another great update. That schoolbread looked great! I need a trip soon!!!!!!!!! Lol. Thank God you were able to take some pics of the food...for me! Lol ;)

I love your Epcot day. I have heard such great things about Akershus, I'm sad we won't get to try it. But I can't wait for Le Cellier!!! I love your theory on riding second for the rider swap. I don't think we will have any swapping this trip but will definitely keep it in mind for the future!

Our kids think we are going the week of Thanksgiving (which is the original week we were going to go). I just think I will go crazy dealing with those crowds, so DH and I decided that we will leave the day after our oldest gets out of college and pull the other two out for the week. Our trade off will be the heat:scared1:
It is very hard for me to keep this quiet. We are going to tell the kids at Easter, with an Easter egg hunt with clues in the eggs. I cant wait to tell them so we can ALL talk about it, not just DH and I.

Okay we might hit Soarin' as our last ride then on our way out of the park while we are there this year.

Heyyyyyyy that Mulan looks kind of familiar!

Picture101.jpg

We stumbled on her right before we went in to watch the 360 for China. She was just hanging out inside and called me over to chat me up about Stitch. She wanted to know what I was feeding him and how he was taking the rain. I said not so well since my ears started flopping. She was super sweet! I hope I run into her again!

Thank you that picture in my avatar was taken at Tokyo Disneyland the proposal trip. It was great! I also got my Stitches Ears the same day. It was a really great day! It makes me want to get stationed in Japan again just to go there! :lovestruc

Wow I think we so have to do that princess breakfast there the next time we go. We are heading to Cindy's Castle. Cause DH just wanted to eat in there. So I said okaaaaaaay. :) :lovestruc:

I have been reading your posts today and can't help but laugh! Our family visited Disney in April of 2009. We are a 6 person gang as well - me, my Dh, DD-7, DD - 6, DS - 4 & DD 2. At one point I was in Tinker's Treasure (MK) with my youngest DD when I hear my husband argueing with my DS (that's right...hahahah better him than me!). I chose to continue shopping until I heard him yell "I could have had a new kitchen". Funniest part - I see other dad's nodding at him - empathy runs high in Disney!

I love your post's - can't wait for more!!!!

:lmao:I know, DH loves to where those camoflouge shorts! :lmao:I would have loved to see Madi running around. At least she was happy and not on the floor screaming and crying. I can't imagine going to Disney while Pregnant. I would probably have put myself into labor, but at least you can eat everything you want to eat and not worry about the calories!!!!:thumbsup2

Another great update. That schoolbread looked great! I need a trip soon!!!!!!!!! Lol. Thank God you were able to take some pics of the food...for me! Lol ;)

I love to look at DR's. I am glad they have a thread just for food porn!!

Awesome trip report!

Thanks, glad you are here!!

Epcot report great :yay: Sounded hot swimming would have been on my mind all day.

The pool part was nice. I don't know how DH could stand to just sit out in the heat while we were in the pool. I could not get him in the water for the life of me.:confused3

I love your Epcot day. I have heard such great things about Akershus, I'm sad we won't get to try it. But I can't wait for Le Cellier!!! I love your theory on riding second for the rider swap. I don't think we will have any swapping this trip but will definitely keep it in mind for the future!

There's always the next trip.:thumbsup2 That's why we have to keep going back, right? Because we always still have places we want to go, and people we want to see! You will love Le Cellier. You have to try the cheese soup!

Our kids think we are going the week of Thanksgiving (which is the original week we were going to go). I just think I will go crazy dealing with those crowds, so DH and I decided that we will leave the day after our oldest gets out of college and pull the other two out for the week. Take pictures or video when you tell them. I want to see their reaction!! That is too exciting. I definitely wouldn't want to be dealing with the Thanksgiving crowds either. Pictures I have seen of those crowds scare me.:scared1:

That is a good idea to hit Soarin on the way out. My DH gets really motion sick on planes and in cars, but he had no problem on Soarin. :confused3 I guess it is different for everyone, because I don't get car sick or plane sick, just on a few rides.

That does look like the same Mulan. She was so sweet. You are cute in your Stitch ears. I wonder what people would do if you wore them out and about at like Walmart or something. You should try it!

Do they still have the Tokyo Disneyland. I thought I had read somewhere that they were going to close it down. Girl, you have traveled the world, and covered every square inch of Disney haven't you? You need to write a report and show all the rides in all of the different Disney's. I would love to see how different they are. I am glad you get to do Cindy's castle! We are definitely doing that one on our next trip!

All caught up again. I loved the updates and pictures!

Denise

Thanks! You are very kind.

:rotfl2:That is funny about your DH.:rotfl2: My DH definitely would be empathizing with him. Haha.

You are not alone. It definitely has gotten easier as the kids have gotten older, but I still have a lot of people tell me, "Boy, you have your hands full with four little ones" I keep thinking about how hard it was 2 years ago when the oldest was five and I was constantly nursing a newborn and everyone was so needy. I can't believe the difference in just two years. Nobody needs me anymore. They are all like a bunch of "I can do it myself" adults. Of course, there still is a lot of cleaning, laundry, and cooking going on, but at least the kids are a little more independent. I do have to cry everytime I watch an old home video though. They grow so fast!!

I bet you thought I cried because it brought back the memories of the stress.;) I wouldn't trade my life for the world.

Where do you stay when you go? I don't know what we are going to do the next time since we won't all fit in one room. Probably one of the family suites at All Star Music. Of course, it will probably still be a year and half before we go again.:sad1:

I also just realized that was your first post!! I have seen this many times on other people's TR's and have always wanted to do it. Here it goes..........

:welcome: to the DIS!!

Also, I wanted to say post some pictures of your family. They look beautiful on your avatar, but it is a small picture. I love to put faces with names!!

I love the pic of your family where your boys are hugging. As a parent it warms my heart when siblings are nice to each other. It's the little moments like that, where it's all worth the work!:goodvibes

It really is those moments that make it worth it. I always tell my kids that the best present they can give to me is to love each other, and help each other.

So I wake up to a little head coming down right on my face. Ouch. All though it is my two year old, and her head is small, it hurt. I guess she had woken up, somehow gotten out of the pack and play, climbed up in my bed, woke up and looked around the room, and then decided to go back to sleep. So as she was flopping backwards, she came down on my face, particularly my mouth. She starts crying because it hurt her head, Dh starts crying because she is kicking him in the face with her feet, (ok, he wasn't really crying, but he was complaining none the less), and I am sitting there tasting blood in my mouth, thinking for sure I had a tooth knocked out or something. Never fear, it was nothing. But I must say, our teeth are pretty strong. My kids have taken many hits to their mouth and still not had a tooth come out. Princess has even hit her mouth on the table so hard that her teeth went all the way through her bottom lip, but still no teeth came out. That's another story though, and I am tired of getting myself sidetracked. Back to Disney.... So, there is a lot of crying going on because now the boys have all woken up and are in a bad mood because they weren't quite ready to get up yet. So what am I to do??? Get out the school bread of course. Yes, the sweetness of the cream mixed with the doughnutiness of the pastry makes everyone all better. Except for DH who didn't get as much as he would have liked. Oh Well, that is what happens with kids. You give them food, they slobber all over it and then decide they only want a couple of bites, and you are left staring at the slobbery mess of school bread that could have been yours had you not put so much on their plate. It was about 6:30 when Princess(DD2) woke everyone up, so we decided to go ahead and get ready for the day.

We get to the bus stop and load up and then I see her getting on the bus. Mullet Lady!! So I started taking pictures of my kids hoping to get her in the background. Let me see if you can see her in any of my pictures. Darn, I wish I could get these pictures bigger. You can almost see her in the second picture. She is three people back on the right. Too bad that pole was in the way as well. You can also see the kid in the black shirt on the left staring at her. He had probably never seen a hair style like that before. :rotfl2:

Then here is my sweet, head smashing, Princess!
177.jpg

178.jpg

I kept seeing Mullet lady all around DHS. Everytime I would see her my DH would say, "Hurry, get your camera out" and then by the time I would get my camera out she would be gone. Maybe she fixed her hair like that because it made her super speedy, because she would be gone in a second.

Anyway, we made it to the front of rope drop and waited for the rope to come down so we could follow the race to TSM, and race we did. This morning we made all the kids sit in the strollers so that we could go quickly to the main event. I told DH while we were busting it over to TSM to park the strollers while I got FP's and then go ahead and get in line. I went to get FP's, and DH parked strollers, got the kids and headed over to TSM except he didn't get in line. I was still in line for FP's when he made it there, but he was not about to get in line without me. So about a hundred people got in line in front of us, but that was fine by me. It probably only set us back about 10 minutes and I didn't want to have to walk past 100 people to get to my DH because I was afraid I would have gotten yelled at, or spit at or something. So we all got in line at the same time and waited about 15 minutes.

Here are Goofy(DS7) and Lego(DS6)

and Princess(DD2) sat with DH this time

179.jpg

this one is actually from when we rode it the second time, later in the day, but I am just going to go ahead and post it now. Princess(DD2) had figured out how to make the gun work.

208.jpg

After our ride was over we came out and noticed that there was a character area with Buzz and Woody. We went in and there were only 2 families in front of us, so we got in line. Here were some props in the waiting area. In this first one Donald(DS4) was getting mad because the brothers were in his way and he couldn't stand on the little step they had there.

campingandDisney2009551.jpg

I told the boys to move over and let Donald(DS4) in. Sometimes it sure is hard for Donald(DS4) being a middle child. I do feel bad for him because the older two boys always pair up and he gets left out. My poor, sweet, Donald. Life is so tough at four years old.;)

campingandDisney2009552.jpg

campingandDisney2009553.jpg

See, yet again, Donald(DS4) was left out of this one. It is so hard sharing the attention.

campingandDisney2009554.jpg

and of course, Princess(DD2). Now Donald(DS4) will probably be mad because she is getting a solo.

campingandDisney2009555.jpg

We made it up to Woody and Buzz.

campingandDisney2009556.jpg

Whew, I found a solo of Donald(DS4)

Image508.jpg

Princess wasn't too sure what to think of Woody's large size. Get your mind out of the gutter girls, I am talking about the character.

Image505.jpg

Image502.jpg

Image504.jpg

Then Woody and Buzz didn't want to trade books, so they played a little game.

I don't know what Woody was doing in this picture.Haha

Image518.jpg

My DH is always doing thumbs up in pictures. So the Woody and Buzz did it with him.

Sorry for the short installment, but I have to go get the kids from school.
I want everyone who is following along on this TR to post a picture of you and your family!! This includes all of you lurkers out there. I love to get to know everybody, and this helps me to get to know you all a little better!!

Nope, TDL is still up and running. They have two parks there actually! Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo Disney Sea. Although the second one has nothing to do with water! I think Hong Kong Disneyland was having some problems due to what they thought would be a very lucrative money maker. But the attendance at that park has been very low but it's the smallest park out of all the Disney parks in the world so it my be expected. They don't have much on rides there either. I have not gotten the chance to go but there are plans in the works!

I've been very lucky to have chances to go overseas. I don't think at this point I would change it. If we get a chance to get stationed in Japan again or go to either Disneyland Paris and Hong Kong Disney. We are really thinking about going to Disneyland Paris next year when DH comes back from training. We'll have to play it by ear and see what happens. But I'm expecting it to happen.

Or if the USAF wants to send us to Germany that'd be great too!

I would totally do that if and when I get a chance to visit those parks again! Thanks for the idea!

Well, since you requested so nicely here is a family picture with Mickey last June. My DD isn't quite so bald now, though she doesn't have nearly as much hair as your DD.
Florida2009043-1.jpg

And I just have to include this picture of my DH dancing with Minnie. See, she can be nice sometimes, LOL.

Here's one of us on our very first day on our last trip

DD2 hadn't arrived on this trip so here's one of our wee bundle of joy
