Since I am not getting anything done around the house, I figured I would work on my TR. So we woke up on Saturday morning at 7:00. I called maintenance first thing to get them to come jump my car off before they had a bunch of other calls. They got out there sometime within an hour, and jumped the car. Thank goodness that was all that was wrong with it because it was working again. DH sat with the car and let it run for a while, and I got the kids in their swimsuits since we would be going to Typhoon Lagoon this morning. We made it to the bus stop, but had to wait forever for a bus for Typhoon Lagoon. We ended up getting to the park not long after 10:00. I took video of the pool as we walked past, look how many people were already in it. Also, in this video is the one and only ride they have in the kiddy section. This was my kids first time on the ride. At first I thought the dip towards the end was going to scare Princess(DD2), but she wanted to go over and over again.

Now, I don't know if you noticed this or not, but did you happen to see my DH's swimsuit? This is a volunteer orange swimsuit that he has had for probably 10 years. In case you don't remember, we had to buy a brand new $40 swimsuit at the beginning of this trip. What happened to it? Everytime DH went swimming, this was the one he would wear. He wore that $40 swimsuit one time, and that was it. He never wore it since. Maybe I need to go upstairs right now, before swimming season gets here, and get rid of that old swimsuit so he will wear his new one.
Anyway, like I said before, this was the one and only ride they had for kids. So, the line would be long for it and then they got tired of it after three or four rides. Maybe I just was missing something, I don't know. The splashy area was fun, but it seemed like spray came out every where and Princess(DD2) didn't like getting constantly wet. We stayed in the splashy area for only five minutes before we decided to move on. Here is a video that contains some footage of the splash zone. You have to watch past the first 20 seconds, and the last 20 seconds are in a little area in front of the wave pool. I love the beachy music.

Now that you have seen the kids area of Typhoon Lagoon, I have a couple of video's that kind of gives you the idea of the kids area in Blizzard Beach. I definitely liked Blizzard Beach better. There were three slides and then an additional three at the top that I don't have a video of. I also like that there is a wading area that the kids could play around in, there were a few areas that sprayed but not constantly, and that there was plenty of seating and you could see your kids no matter where they were. Unless they were on the little playground on the top of the hill that had the additional three slides. I just felt more relaxed and comfortable at Blizzard Beach, and my kids definitely liked the kiddie area here better than they did at Typhoon Lagoon. They also liked the pre teen area that I had pictures of earlier in the TR. All in all I felt like there were more slides that kids can do at Blizzard Beach. I am sure that Typhoon Lagoon is better for the older kids, because it does have that water roller coaster, Crush n Gusher.
Kids area at Blizzard Beach from our trip last year. Please excuse my hubby's video taping. Half the time he is recording, he doesn't look at what he is recording.

Alright, I think I got a little carried away because I have totally forgotten where I was in my day. So we spent some time at the kiddie area, probably about 30 minutes, and the kids were ready to move on. We decided to try out the family raft ride at TL. Let me just say now, the family raft ride at BB is much better because 1. you don't have to carry your own raft 2. You can fit 6 people in a raft and 3. It is a longer better ride. We got to the bottom of the family raft ride and find out that you have to take your own raft up. Just so you know that raft is heavy and awkward to get up the stairs, especially with a 2 year old. I thought, no big deal, we will just all ride in one like we do at BB and DH can carry the raft. Then I find out that you can only sit 4 people to a raft. So DH had to carry a raft, and I had to carry a raft. I could tell that my DH was pained watching me struggling to get this big heavy raft up the stairs without stepping on my little kids right under me. He kept trying to help me, but he had his own to hold. It was so hard, but we finally made it. So, DH went down with Goofy(DS7) and Donald(Ds4). I went down with Princess(DD2) and Lego(DS6). They have a photopass photographer at the bottom taking pictures, but he was scanning DH's pics to the card when my raft came down so there are no pictures of my raft. That is alright though, here are some of DH's crew.
The raft ride was fun, but I told DH it was not worth having to drag that huge raft up to the top. I like riding the chairlift at BB, much easier. So now, our bellies were getting hungry. We headed over to the closest place to eat which would have been Leaning Palms. We each ordered some hamburgers, and once again the kids had hotdogs. Then we went and sat in this very shady spot with a bunch of tables. The only problem with the shady spot is that there were lots of birds sitting in the trees waiting to grab our food. DH then says to me that he better not get pooped on. No sooner had he said it then a big splat landed on his shiny, bald head. He looked at me and said, " What just hit me on the head?" The look on his face, the fact that he had just made that comment, and the green poop running on his head had me in tears I was laughing so hard. He is just lucky he doesn't have hair, and I am just lucky that he was the one sitting in that spot. All of the sudden birds started coming from everywhere. We told the kids they better eat fast before their food gets pooped on. I swear that was the fastest we ever ate. This was just not our day. At least the car got fixed, or did it? We will see later. So now we decided to go try out that wave pool with the huge waves. Goofy(DS7) LOVED this wave pool, and suprisingly so did Donald(DS4). Lego(DS6) and Princess(DD2) were too scared of the waves, so they wouldn't get in. Poor Lego, I think he is afraid of everything. Maybe that is why he would rather be at the lego store than Magic Kingdom because he knows there are no scary rides at the lego store.
Here is some footage of the large waves. This video really doesn't do justice though, those waves were so huge!!

We swam around in the pool a little while and then Lego(DS6) said he wanted to go back to that one ride at the kiddie area. I tell DH we should go try out some of the larger slides that didn't have height restrictions, but he was afraid to put Princess(DD2) on her own raft on a bigger slide, and he didn't want to seperate. I am sure the boys would have loved the larger slides, but DH was not feeling very spontanious at the moment. Later he regretted it and said he wished we would have tried the larger slides. I am sure we would have enjoyed TL much more if we had. So back to the kids area we went. Goofy(DS7) was upset because he didn't want to go back to that kids area, so I stayed with him in the wave pool. Here we were splitting up when DH just said he didn't want too. I should have taken Goofy(DS7) on some of the slides while we were apart, but I wasn't sure how long DH would last at the kiddie area. Here are some pics of us at the wave pool.

We met back up with DH and the other kids and decided that we would all do the lazy river. People probably hate us when we get in there, because we take up a lot of space and it is hard to get around us. Plus it takes us a while to get everyone in their tubes and we each have to hold on to each other. It was a nice relaxing way to see the rest of TL. I tried to get someone, anyone to get out with me and swim across the shark reef. But alas, I had no takers. The kids were terrified once I said the word shark. I didn't want to make anyone wait while I went, so on we went in the lazy river. After the lazy river DH and the kids were ready to go. We didn't stay at TL long, but we had more to do today. We were going to disneyquest and DTD to do our souvineer shopping. Plus we had a dinner reservation at wolfgang pucks at 5:45.
