Celebrating 9 days with my 4 kids(7,6,4,2)May 2009, I know I'm late starting this TR

Lol I guess Lego would have a more fun time at Lego land then? Poor guy I hope he still had fun even though he kept asking to leave....

I have 2 boys of my own and then 3 step sons but only my boys are going on our Halloween trip because my husbands ex will not let the boys miss school. We did take all 5 boys this past August for a week and it was fun. We did the free dining, love that deal from Disney...cause my boys eat alot.

You will have to do a TR, because I really want to go during that time next year. We saved so much money with the DDP. I don't know how people can do the dxddp because we had so much food with the ddp.

Love the new pictures, Looking forward to more!

Thanks, I will post again soon.

Oh my goodness. He is always asking me now to go to legoland. He keeps telling me he is not going back to Disney until I take him to legoland first. I have thought about going out to legoland and Disneyland, maybe this summer. We will have to see.

Great trip report you've got going! I wanted to ask..how did you like POR??

We loved it! I was a little worried because I was going to do the family suite at ASMu, but decided the last minute to do POR because it was cheaper, and they had a boat that goes to DTD. Also, I wanted to do a pirate cruise for my boys, and they had one that left from POR. It was very confusing at first to find our way around to the pool and the bus stops and the dining area, but after studying the map we figured it out. I had read on the DIS to request bldg 14 because it is the most conveniant, but we ended up in bldg 15. 15 was still very convieniant so it worked out wonderfully. I think I walked around the whole resort though the first time I went to the pool, but at least it was very scenic and beautiful. I also wanted to do the fishing with my boys, but it was so hot that we never did it. I know it was pretty cheap though. They have a lot to do there and it is beautiful. I would definitely go back. :thumbsup2

Your DD looks precious on the carousel and I love the pics of the boys trying to pull out the sword.

Silly ? time - in the kid's meal at Peco's is the chicken on the salad grilled or fried? I have a very picky eater and he'll eat fried, but not grilled chicken. Want to eat at Peco's, but he won't eat a hamburger either, so if it is grilled, I'll have to find somewhere else to eat.

Keep the TR coming, I love reading it!

That's not a silly question. I am sorry, but the chicken is grilled.

My kids just finally started to eat hamburgers within the last 4 months. They would eat the meat off, but not the bread. This is probably one of the reason they are small is because they eat like they are on the adkins diet or something. They love meat, but not bread. I have finally got them eating sandwiches and hamburgers on the bun here recently, thanks to their cousins. They had some cousin's come and stay with us a for a while, and they would talk about how much they loved bread and hamburgers and all of the sudden my kids are eating more food!! Anything that their cousin's liked, all of the sudden my kids liked. :thumbsup2 What's is funny is that my kids prefer veggies over fruit. I am the opposite, bring on the carbs and the fruit any day!!!:goodvibes

Subbing. I am really interested in reading your report because we are going this May and staying at POR!!! What part of May was it? I couldn't find the dates anywhere, don't know if I just missed them or if you didn't post them. We are going at the beginning of May and are soooo excited. Your family is beautiful, great start!!!

Hey!Thanks for joining.:cool1:

I can't believe I didn't post the dates, I will have to go back and put them in somewhere. We were there from May 1-10. It was a great time to go. I think the crowds were pretty good, this first day that I am posting was the busiest day I saw because there were some school groups, but even then the waits weren't too bad. We also got there the week before all the rain hit. I know I have seen some May TR's from last year where people were stuck in the rain the whole time. I am so excited for you!!!!! I can't wait to read your TR, and I must say that your DD is absolutely adorable. She is going to have so much fun!!!!! I am going to look at your PTR right now!

Ok, so what did we decide to do? Well, our FP's for the Winnie the Pooh ride had not reached their time yet. The return time was for 1:45, and it was nearing 1:15. We decided we would let them run around on Pooh's playground while we waited. We also knew that when we came back on the following Wed. that we were going to go by Tour Guide Mike's plan and were going to be commando so today would be a perfect day to do the things that were not part of the commando plan. The kids really enjoyed Pooh's playful spot. Even though it was so hot outside, they had a few area's that squirted water and cooled them off a bit. Again, for those of you going this May, these were record highs. It was mid 90's the whole week, and we kept hearing all the CM's say that is not normal for the first week of May. I want to say that they kept telling us it is usually in the 80's. Anyway, here are some pics:

Winnie the Pooh has this little door into his spot in the tree. That was the first place Princess(DD2) was headed.

Princess found her a seat, and did not want to get up. She sat there for a few minutes.

Donald(DS4)scoping out the place. I love the stuff that the ground was made out of. It was really soft and spongy.

I don't know why some of these pictures are big and some are small. I am not an expert at photobucket yet. I could resize them to make them smaller if I wanted too, but I don't know how to make them bigger.:confused3 Oh Well, you get the picture.

We did see Pooh and Eeyore out getting pictures made with kids, but it was a long line and it was now time to head over to Winnie the Pooh. I know you are wondering if Lego is still wanting to leave after all this fun, and the answer is, yes. He was still nagging me to go to the lego store or to go back to the pool and go swimming. This was really starting to annoy me because he was missing out on a lot of the fun because all he wanted was to leave. I could not believe it.

Back to the Pooh ride. I didn't take any pictures in this ride because it was a dark ride and I didn't want to use my flash. There was a day later in the week when we were one of the first ones on, so there weren't any others around us and we were able to get some pictures. I will post those later. I did take this picture.

campingandDisney2009170.jpg

I also took some pictures of the gift shop when you come out. Actually, these are not really of the gift shop, but of my kids in the gift shop. I guess I should have taken some more pictures of the stuff in the shop for your enjoyment. Oh Well.

Here is a picture of all the stuffed animals, and of course Lego(DS6) is looking at them thinking if he could just get us to spend our money on something it would make him feel so much better about not currently being in the lego store.

Donald(DS4) really wanted this Pooh Bear
campingandDisney2009190.jpg

and Princess(DD2) found this little Pooh Bear that she thought she wanted
campingandDisney2009194.jpg

Now, I know you are wondering if we bought anything. Here is the deal, we give our kids each a certain amount of money for the trip. We encourage them to wait until the end of the trip to spend it because they will see plenty more stuff on our trip that they may want and we will go back and make sure we get what they want. We also had a surprise planned for the following evening and they would be getting some stuff then, which they of course didn't know about. Well, Lego(DS6)knew he didn't want anything in this store as all that he wanted was a lego set. Goofy(DS7) has no problem waiting until the end of the week because he likes to save everything, so he had saved some extra money on top of the money we gave them for this trip and wanted to wait and get something good. All Donald(DS4) wanted from long before this trip was a Pooh Bear to sleep with. We let him go ahead and get the bear because we knew that housekeeping would do some fun things with it. Princess didn't get anything yet because her birthday was the following day and she was going to get some stuff then.

I was wanting to do PeterPan's flight, but the wait time was really long
campingandDisney2009145.jpg

Up next, Princess(DD2) meets the Princesses!

I just found your trip report. Thank you , and I look forward to ready more. Keep it up I am in.

You have a beautiful family!!!!

Peter Pan had a 55 min. wait, so I decided I would wait until we came back later in the week to ride it. Since we were this close to Toontown we decided to head that way. The boys were wanting to ride Goofy's barnstormer, but I knew that Princess(DD2) wasn't tall enough. That was fine with me though because I knew there were some princesses close by and my boys wouldn't want to see them. So, DH and I parted ways. He headed towards Goofy's Barnstormer(which had a 20 minute wait) and I headed toward Toontown Hall of Fame Tent to meet the princesses. The line for the Princesses was 40 minutes, so I called DH and told him to ride the barnstormer twice.

Here are a few pics of the ride

campingandDisney2009198.jpg

Princess(DD2) and I finally made it to the front of the line and before it is our turn she see's them, and she peeks around this column to get a closer look. I love this picture because she is so aww struck.
065.jpg

I didn't yet have the kids autograph books, so I gave my Princess the map and had her give it to the Princesses to sign. The first up was Aurora. She walked up carefully and handed her the map.
Image045.jpg

Then Princess Aurora talked to Princess(DD2) about her shoes. Princess(DD2) had on shoes that had Princess Aurora on them.
Image043.jpg

then Princess(DD2)immediately sat down in Princess Aurora's lap. I couldn't get her to leave when it was time to go see the next princess, which was a shock because the next princess was Cinderella who has long been Princess's favorite.
Image047.jpg

Cinderella asked Princess(DD2) to come over and see her, so Princess(DD2) slowly got up and headed towards her favorite.
063.jpg

Image055.jpg

After Cinderella was Belle. I don't know why, but Princess(DD2)did not want to see Belle. I think it is because Belle is usually seen with the Beast and she probably thought he was somewhere nearby.
Image061.jpg

Image063.jpg

she walked up and handed Belle the map to sign, and then ran right back too me. I also must admit that she was really tired as it was nap time.
Image059.jpg

So I got in the pictures with her.
Image066.jpg

Image071.jpg

Image073.jpg

As soon as we are walking out of the tent, DH and the boys were walking in. It worked out perfectly except that DH was a little mad at me because he was really wanting to see Princess(DD2) when she saw the princesses for the first time. :earseek::love2:I know that 2years old probably sounds too young for her to really know the princesses, but she has had the princess singalong dvd's since her first birthday and she knew all the princesses by name.

Well, we still had our FP's for BTMR and Splash Mountain so that was where we were headed next. For those of you who may be planning your first trip to WDW let me just say, you must do Fastpasses. They will have a return time with an hour slot, for example, return between 1:45-2:45. We had gotten ours in the morning and I believe the return time said, return between 11:30-12:30. Now you might be thinking that we missed our time slot, but that is the good thing about FP. You don't necessarily have to go back during that exact hour, you just have to wait until after the first time given. In this case we had to wait until after 11:30. It was now approaching 2:30 and I was wanting to see the parade, so I told DH to take the older two boys and ride the big rides while I scoped out and found us a spot for the parade. DH was excited because he would much rather ride the rides than to sit in the heat. About this time Lego(DS6) starts in with,"I don't want to ride anymore rides, I just want to go to the lego store. I am not going anywhere until we go to the lego store."
I tell DH to go on with Goofy(DS7) and that I will sit with the kids and get them a drink or something. I find a spot right next to a vending cart:woohoo: and than I realize that DH has all the tickets and money. I can't buy anything. :scared1: Now Lego(DS6) is crying because he changed his mind and wants to go ride the rides. I tell him it is too late for that and it is his fault for only thinking about the Lego store and not enjoying the MK. Within 5 minutes Princess(DD2), Donald(DS4), and Lego(DS6) are asleep. I was kind of bummed because I was wanting the younger ones to see the parade, but I knew they needed a nap. DH comes and finds us right as the parade is starting. As soon as Lego(DS6) hears DH's voice he jumps up and says, "I want to go ride the rides". DH says, "sorry, but the standby line is 100 minutes. I only have one more FP, so I can't take you without another one. " I guess this is where all the school groups were at. So since Lego couldn't go on the rides or go to the lego store he started in with, "I'm so hot, I just want to go swimming." :furious: I would have left at this point, since we were coming back to the MK later in the week, but we had an ADR at CP at 5:15. He sure does know how to nag and nag, and it was starting to wear on me. Finally we see the parade!!

It was a really good parade. We recorded it, so the little kids got to see it later! Up next, our dinner at Crystal Palace. Plus, what do you think we did after dinner. Did we give in to Lego(DS6) and go to the lego store? Did we take the kids swimming? did we stay in the MK? or did we do something else? What do you think?

Poor Lego. I know how it is to have a DS who has a one-track mind! For his sake (and yours), I hope he gets there soon.

P.S. I love the look on your DD face when she sees the princesses. Priceless!

Well, we finished watching the parade, and we were all parched. I was so thirsty that my tongue was sticking to the roof of my mouth. The kids had shared a bottle of water that I had brought, but I just didn't want some hot backwashed water. I decided then and there that I wanted a dole whip float. I had seen them, heard about them, and dreamed about them, but had never actually had one...... now is my chance. Part of me debated for a second, but only a second, because it was now an hour and a half from our dinner time. Oh well, I will have some dessert first!!!! We got to the Aloha Isle stand and wouldn't you know it, all the school groups are on the way out and they all decided to stop and get a dole whip. I swear, I was constantly behind these school groups. Anyhow, It did not deter me in the least bit. I wanted a dole whip and I would wait, and wait I did.... FOR 45 MINUTES!! I must have been crazy. I actually was going to leave, but I kept thinking I was almost there. That and Goofy(DS7) was determined to have one as well and would not let me get out of line. That was a little of the problem as well. I picked the shortest, but slowest line. Everytime I would think about switching lines I would tell myself that once I did I would regret it because I would end up getting in the next slowest one. I will say that after 30 minutes in the slowest line I noticed that many people had come, eaten, and left that had used the other lines. I bit the bullet and switched lines. That line was the hardest line I waited in all day because every time I saw someone walk away with a dole whip I would have to constrain myself from grabbing it out of their hands and getting a big drink of the pineapple juice. I could hear the slurping of the straws, the air going through the straw when they would get to the bottom of their drink, see the ice cream melting down the side. Pure torture. It was a good thing I switched lines because within 10 minutes I had my dole whips in hand, and I noticed my previous line still had not moved much.

Here I am with my dole whips, and it looks like Lego(DS6) has found something that he actually wants... for now.
078.jpg

Let me just say that at the moment I took my first drink I could hear the angels singing. It was pure heaven. :worship: On top of that the pineapple flavored ice cream is so awesome! I want one right now just thinking about it. I must plan my next trip!

So now that we had waited for so long it was even closer to our ADR for CP. We finished our dole whip floats and decided to see if we could get in for our ADR, since Lego(DS6) had been ready to go since we got there. We were about 30 minutes later so I walked over to the check in area to see if they could get us in.

Here is where I met one of the nicest CM's I have ever met. I talked to her for a minute and found out that she has been working at WDW for 25 years!! Doesn't she look so sweet, I just love her smile. You can see pure happiness coming from her.
campingandDisney2009237.jpg

Well, they got us right in. We love the CP. This was our 3rd time here, and it was still just as good as the first two times.

Here are some of the topiaries you see when you first walk in.
campingandDisney2009274.jpg

campingandDisney2009273.jpg

We sat down and noticed that Winnie the Pooh was almost to our table, so we decided to wait until we saw him before we got our food. Here are the kids waiting
Princess(DD2)
campingandDisney2009239.jpg

Donald(DS4)so excited because he loves Pooh Bear. This face cracks me up, and he does it everytime he gets his picture taken.
campingandDisney2009242.jpg

Lego(DS6) who is generally happy whenever there is food involved, he wants to be a chef when he gets older. I must admit that he is creative with food because he likes to eat chocolate graham crackers with cheese.:confused3 The guy behind him looks pretty excited about something, obviously the lady with him could care less because she was more concerned with posing for the picture:laughing:
campingandDisney2009241.jpg

and Goofy(DS7) who just wanted to eat

Pooh made his way to our table, and the kids had their pictures taken with him.

campingandDisney2009246.jpg

Now it was time to get our food. Here are a few pictures I took of our plates. My DH wouldn't let me take a picture of his. He thinks it is so weird. :goodvibes
Here is my first plate. There was some Salmon(which I loved), Prime Rib, tomatoes and mozzerella, some broccoli, and some chicken mushroom pasta under my salmon
campingandDisney2009247.jpg

Goofy's plate(DS7)pretty self explanatory
campingandDisney2009248.jpg

and Lego's plate(DS6) also self explanatory
campingandDisney2009249.jpg

campingandDisney2009250.jpg

I can't believe I don't have anymore pictures of food. I thought for sure I would have taken some of our desserts, but I guess I didn't.

Now we had our plates and were ready to eat! While eating we were visited with some more of these guys!
Eeyore
campingandDisney2009263.jpg

Then Mia's favorite came over, as she would say,"PIGGY"!1 Look how excited she was:
084-1.jpg

campingandDisney2009269.jpg

Last was Tigger, Donald(DS4) didn't want to get up again:
campingandDisney2009272.jpg

Then we heard some music and saw Eeyore leading a parade around the restaurant. All of the kids get up and follow behind Eeyore, my kids loved this. I only got one picture of this because I recorded it on my video camera. Sometimes I was video recording and taking pictures at the same time. I don't know who this is in the front of the parade, do you know her?
082.jpg

We had told Kathy when we checked in that we would be celebrating Princess's(DD2) birthday and Donald's(DS4) birthday. Each kid got to pick two nights to celebrate their birthday's. Again this is because 3 of them have their birthday's in May, and I didn't want to leave the other one out. Donald(DS4) wanted his celebrated here since he loves Pooh bear. We also did Princess's(DD2) birthday here since this is where we celebrated her birthday the year before. So after the parade was over our server brought out some cupcakes for the kids. Here he is presenting Princess(DD2) with her card.
campingandDisney2009253.jpg

and here she is with her cupcake that she loved. You can also see that she didn't eat much food off of her plate.

and here is Goofy(DS7) trying to get Princess(DD2) interested in the card. The card was signed by each of the characters.

She takes after her mom, just give me the sweets!

Then it was Donald's(DS4) turn. He was interested in the card.

then the cupcake

Now we were full and ready to go. Up next, Where did we go next?
