We a planning a short trip to celebrate my parent's 40th wedding anniversary for 5/06. We want to make a family reunion out of it. Any suggestions for a restaurant for the celebration that is good for large groups but not too expensive?

Kona at the Poly has Great food & is reasonably priced given the quality. As I recall, there are lots of free-standing tables that can be moved together.

Also, when we were at Boma for breakfast earlier this month, there was a family reunion type breakfast going on. Our server said that the last headcount on it was 48! They took up an entire section & people were coming & going the whole time we were there. Even tho it was breakfast that we saw, I'm sure they could handle dinner the same way.

We did a dinner at Chef Mickey's for 21 for my sons birthday. I did a couple DIS meets ages ago that were fairly large, dinner at Spoodles for 18 and breakfast at Chef Mickeys for 26. Both were nice & relatively inexpensive. I did have to go thru Group Sales for the Spoodles meet. I'm not a Chef Mickey's fan at all anymore tho. The last couple meals I had there were pretty awful.

Do you want vow renewals? If so, check out the Wedding part of the site. We were looking into doing our renewals there and the prices I thought were reasonable. You don't have to have it at the wedding pavillion. You can have it anywhere. For example, if you are English you might want to have the reception in the England part of Epcot. Just a thought.

We will be celebrating our 10 year anniversary at Citrico's (at GF) in early May. It has received great reviews and I don't believe it's as expensive as some of the other great restaurants. Have fun choosing and be sure to make your ADR's real soon, especially for a large group going out. :Pinkbounc

how many people do you have, ages?

ohanas at the polynesian is a great restaurant for groups & has larger tables and a set price family style buffet with skewers. citricos at the grand floridian has a private room for 14. the hoop de doo revue dinner show takes special notice of anniversaries & has good hearty food & entertainment. victoria & alberts (although expensive) has a a chefs table which would be a nice anniversary splurge, roses for women, suits for men. cape may cafe at the beach club has a clambake buffet for dinner so affordable & good food ie lobster. whispering canyon cafe is a favorite of ours with their endless skillet & antics at the wilderness lodge. if youre looking for something with characters maybe crystal palace at mk or chef mickeys at the contemporary.

you can view menus & restaurant info at http://www.allearsnet.com under dining.

Chef's de France, Le Cellier, Citricos, Narcoossee's, Maya Grill, Ohana, Palio, to name a few!

Thank you for your suggestions. We are expecting about 20 people or so of all ages (from 2 years old to 62 years old - but no teenagers). We are still debating on wether to make the celebration a breakfast, lunch or dinner.

At any rate, this is some additional info that was requested.. Thanks for your time.

Alfredo's has a room which seats about 40 off the main dining room and can be closed off. Unless the restaurant is going to be very full they try to avoid using that room for seating but I have seen (and been to) private parties in that room.

What type of food do you prefer? You can book just about anything you want at disney if you are willing to spend the money for it.
