We're going to WDW in March and our daughter's 3rd birthday falls during the trip. I'm looking for ideas on celebrating her b-day. We're planning to be at the MK that day. I know about getting the birthday button at guest relations, but would like any other suggestions for making her day special. (Bibiddi-Bobiddi-Botique is probably not a good idea; she won't even let me put barrettes in her hair!)

We're staying off property, so I can't get the CM's to decorate the room.

We have breakfast reservations for Chef Mickey's. Will they still bring a cupcake and sing? Is there anything else I can arrange for her there?

Ahhhhh... memories... we did that too. Our little man turned 3 at WDW and he will be turning 5 there too in 2010. We celebrated his birthday the entire week that we were there. And why shouldn't we?? It was Disney World after all! With the birthday button on a little one magical things will happen. Landon was allowed to drive the shuttle bus (the driver put it in Park and the emergency brake on and let him play with the steering wheel-a very big deal for a 3 year old boy), he was asked to ride in the front of the monorail, he was given extra desserts at dinner and EVERY ONE WISHED HIM A HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!! He truly felt that he was the only person at WDW!!!

With regard to the Birthday celebration at Chef Mickey's. They have a "celebration" song where they swing napkins and everyone that is celebrating a birthday gets a cupcake brought to them at this time. He also got a special place mat that said it was his Birthday and was "signed" by all the characters. Hope this helps, and I hope that she has a wonderful 3rd birthday at WDW!!! You can get an extra cake for her with her name, ect, but since Chef Mickey's is a buffet, I wouldn't spend the money on it.

ALSO, if you are crazy about your child's clothing as I am, don't put her in a super nice shirt while she is wearing the button. They tend to twist it and play with it leaving a nice little whole it the shirt. Definitely, let her wear it though. It is, after all, magical!:wizard:

Yeppers..... the button is the best tool in your arsenal. Pretty much anywhere she can interact with characters, they will make her feel special. Seems I remember them doing something special at the Cinderella's Castle dinner, but since you already doing Mickey you may not want to mess with it.

On another note, we are going to be at WDW in March... the day AFTER our youngest DD turns 11!
