Celebrate Your Birthday at WDW

Interesting...but as you noted, this will mostly help attract local folks. If you have to travel some distance to get to WDW, you are going to want to stay longer than just a day or 2, and the way they price the MYW tickets, the one day free isn't going to do much for anyone!

We have APs so the free admission would do nothing for us.

My thoughts exactly on the one day ticket - it really isn't worth much if you are already buying a multi-day ticket. Good for those living near by though. We have AP's so it is really useless for us! Not to mention that one birthday is mid-July and I won't go then. The other is always around a holiday weekend and we won't got then either. And mine is at the end of September, which might be a possibility although it is still pretty warm!

Don't most people buy multi day tickets? Not sure how a single free day will make much difference for most people traveling to WDW.

Maybe Disney doesn't think it needs to do anything special in 2009 for those of us who are already annual passholders? Gee, at least with Year of a Million Dreams I had a CHANCE at winning something... I usually travel to Disney for my birthday if I can anyway.

Edit: I take it back! Now I see that there ARE benefits for those who have A/Ps, too! I love the birthday fast pass idea. Will be very tempting to take that over the gift card.

Hey!! We are planning on being there for my birthday next year. I guess I get in free that day? I have a multi-day ticket (10 day non-expiring park hopper). Can't I just not use it that day and save the day that is on my ticket for next time I go?

The announcement here included something about being able to choose a gift or experience if you had a ticket to cover your admission already. It could not be exchanged or refunded for cash.

I wonder if you could pay the hopper fee and turn it into a hopper.

I have a possible opportunity to stay at OKW in January (DVC friend's points). I was thinking of skipping the parks to save money, and just enjoy the resorts and pool and DTD etc.

A one-day hopper for $50 would be really cool. I could do a 4 park dash in one day!

Oh - my Bday is Jan 21st, so happy birthday to me!! :confused3 Do you think they'll allow the upgrade?

I just got my passholder e-mail, instead of the ticket, you can get either:
magical fast passes (for up to 5 in party) :cool1:
equivilent gift card :cool1:
Or a ticket to use before your next birthday (if you do not renew)

so if your travel plans don;t include your actual birthday you get nothing right.

I love that I already made a booking for my birthday in January before the announcement. I just hope the gift card for AP holders can get me something nice!

Ok I'm beginning to feel like it's Christmas around here. First they announce THV and now the Celebration special next year.

So that Grand Gathering I have planned next year... the one with 17 members of my family including one very difficult SIL... the one I almost cancelled because said SIL was shall we say nasty to me over this last summer... is the very same trip that just happens to coincide with not one but two actual birthdays among my nephews.

Yeah I'm covered with an AP. My dad is covered with an AP. But my nephews both have to have multi-day tickets which their struggling parents must provide them (or else I have to).

So we could get free entry for a nephew one day and free entry for another our last day. Hmm, I just might become the most popular aunt ever.

Yeah the bubble will burst. THV won't have any ADA rooms. My SIL will be so nasty I just have to avoid her or kill her.

Oh well, I'll at least plan my Fall trip next year around my birthday.
