cedar point

We are from the Cleveland area, but when we do go to Cedar Point, we like to stay at eith Kalahari or Great wolf lodge. The prices can be very reasonalble with the right discount code. Staying at the waterparks makes it a fun-filled vacation. Check travelzoo.com for codes.

I'm not sure of what place is being talked about, but i know there is a buffer (or was) near the Point and it was fairly expensive. I think some restuarants take advantage of the location

Sorry I haven't posted in a while. Thanks for the great info. We have booked cottages w/ decks right on the lake. they had a great ticket deal 3day both parks for $89.
We will definitely take advantage of early entry. To the person who was discussing the shuttle-can anybody on property just call for the shuttle? Does it make a regualr loop through each resort area like Disney buses?
Another quick question-where can we grocery shop? We are driving from MA so obviously want to wait til we are in the area. We are staying the night before check in at a Quality Inn Rainwater. Is there anything nearby?
We go the end of June and am now letting myself get excited.

The shuttle from the Cottages is completely unnecessary......it is a very short walk but you will probably see the shuttle during your walk as they come quite often. The cottages are great, it is so relaxing sitting on the deck on the lake but be prepared for the bugs......they are thick!

I am not sure if they still have the breakfast buffet, but I think it was at Hotel Breakers. It has been a few years since we went to it and I don't remember the price. There also used to be a character breakfast at TGI Fridays, I am not sure if they still have it or not.

Make sure you request the Getaway Guide before you go. They typically have coupons on the back. If it doesn't arrive before your trip, get one from Guest Services. (Sometimes you've got to beg! LOL!)

Here's a link to request one...

Also, did you see that CP has a little information about ride restrictions on their website?

And finally, if you're looking for a site similar to the DIS, it is http://www.pointbuzz.com

Sorry, I don't know which buffet you are talking about. We live close enough to not spend the night.

Have fun!!!!

Thank you for the contact info. I emailed my request. Thanks too to everyone else for the tips on bugs at the cottages and breakfast at Breakers. I'll have to look into that.

I think i finally talked dh into going...This will be a VERY BUDGET trip..We will spend 2 days in the parks...I see right now they have a 2 day special for $54.99, but i might hold out, and see if they do a christmas in july special...

How are the last week in july or 1st week in august?? We would like to be in the parks on a monday and tuesday...How are the crowds/wait times??

Can i bring snacks in the park?

How much are locker rentals?

TIA

I think it depends on where you get the locker. There are some near the water rides, I think they around $2, but it's a one time use I believe. I think there are some all day ones, but I'm not sure.

You can bring food into the park. Right when you get through the first entrance, you should make a right and there are picnic tables. We usually set out cooler on one and head off. People usually leave your stuff alone. We've seen families bring a wagon and carry a small cooler with them through out the park.

Weekdays are usually not as busy as weekends, as long as it's not a holiday. It should be hot though.

Wait times vary on the ride, weather, day and time.

Here are some good tips:

You can bring food to the park, but the policy is to leave it outside at the picnic/pavillion area. They used to be very strict about not letting any food or drinks into the park. They even used to make people dump out any beverages before going in. They also used to only allow diaper bags with food into the parks. Now, they seem to let a lot more slide. It's not anything like WDW, where they just check bags and let you in. The pavillion area is safe (so far.) We've always left bags and coolers full of food and never had anything taken. We have had college kids ask for food, though!:rotfl: We just picture our own teenages hungry and share. Those CP food prices are crazy!:scared1:

Somebody mentioned a breakfast buffet close to Cedar Point. Does anyone know how much it costs? We will have (2) 14yr olds and (2) 12 yr olds plus 4 adults if that helps

Has anybody done Cedar Point and Rock n Roll Museum in Cleveland? I believe the distance is about an hour. Would one day at each place be enough?

Thanks in advance!:goodvibes

I went to Cedar Point last year and I kept a CONSTANT watch on the price of tickets. They fluctuated a lot from day to day and I too missed out on a great deal. Then someone posted a thread at the end of June/beginning of July that Cedar Point was having Christmas in July and on July 25th they offered I believe it was 5,000 one day tickets for $25 a piece. They were gone in a little over half an hour but I was able to get four! So here's hoping you still have time to get a great deal. I noticed as the Summer went on they offered more and more ticket deals last year.
