That is really hard to believe that it is even breakers hotel. Even the old section looks nothing like that.

In the early 90's I worked at Cedar Point in the college program one summer. Those pics actually look like the dorms they housed us in. They were not very nice at all.

We go about every summer and always stay at breakers. We booked to late to get a room in the "newer" part one year and had a pretty bad room. Like creepy bad, but it is old so I wasn't that upset, just tried to think of it as adding to the charm.

DH and I stayed at Hotel Breakers many, many years ago, maybe 30 or so. We used to go to Cedar Point every year or two, but haven't been back in many years. A couple years ago I checked hotel prices and couldn't believe how expensive it was to stay at the Breakers, or any of their other hotels. Even their campground fees are high. So we just haven't gone back at all. We're not into roller coasters anyway.

All of the hotels there are super expensive and pretty dumpy - the exceptions being the water park resorts in Sandusky. And ALL of them have large number of bed bug reports! Thank goodness we are only an hour and a half away! The Season passes are a great deal!!

That's what they looked like to me also. I think they have rooms at the Breakers that they rent to the employees and those might be it. The dorms they have are not nice at all and those pictures look like what they have. The kids don't really care, they are working and out, not in the rooms much.

I also worked at the Point in the early 90's and lived in the Breakers for part of one summer. At least during that time, the rooms in the rotunda were permanent dorm rooms, usually set aside for hotel employees. One room in the rotunda is set aside for access to the fire escape, I believe that was one of your photos.

The rooms above the main hallway entrance were used for short term employee housing until space opened up in the main dorms. I was lucky as a new employee to score one of the Breakers rooms instead of the dorms, but would have been quite upset to pay their price as a guest for that same room. They only filled those rooms with guests when the hotel was completely booked. I had to be out of my room and into a dorm before the 4th of July weekend.

Yikes! Bed bugs  a recent report you read? Where would I find that info? Or are with the water park resorts and want all the business lol

Oh gosh I didn't mean to freak you out! Just wanted to warn people to be aware!

www.bedbugregistry.com I check everywhere we travel to. It creeps me out!!!

eta: now I'm itchy, thanks.ha

Thank you for the info. Just checked a place we stay at about three times a year it had one report and that was in 2011. I always check for signs of bugs and never found them. I wonder how many find bugs and don't report it on that site!

Someone clearly has an ax to grind by posting pictures that are not what they seem.

I think I remember staying there back in the early 90s. We must have been in the old section, because the rooms sure didn't look like what I saw in the brochure.

I call shenanigans... Looks like the exterior of the old staff dormitory... Can't believe everything you see...

They're real. No ax to grind, I've had season passes for 15 years, I know just about every inch of the place. This is main entrance to the Breakers, the bad part I showed earlier is on the left as you are viewing it headon:
