Cedar Point Dining Help

Looking online and found a Johnny Rockets Menu from Cedar point. I priced out what we would probably get and it comes out only $3 cheaper then doing the Buffet with the Single Meal Deal that is without dessert at Johnny Rockets.

The buffet is decent - the last I ate there a few years back I would equate it to a Golden Corral buffet or the like. A decent variety of food for an ok price within a theme park. We were pleased with our choice to eat there.

Most of the time though, we pick up deli meats and buns and just picnic in the parking lot.

On our last trip, I couldn;t get the all day dining to make sense. We ended lunch in Famous Dave's - they offer a food credit equal to your parking pass so that made the meal affordable. Food is decent - Applebees quality.

In the parks, I like Panda Express. I have also done Market Buffet and felt like we got decent value. Mostly, we eat outside the parks, driving to Cici's Pizza or Ryan's Buffet as both are cheap buffets. A couple of times,we have done the McD's outside the gates.

And yes, food is much more expensive than Disney. I nearly gagged at Subway's prices.

I think CiCi's closed down last year.

Try picking up picnic food at Meijer and eating at the pavillion. It's a nice break and cheaper, too.

Thanks everyone for the tips and suggestions here! My DD is going to Cedar Point this week on a band trip and I will get her the all day meal deal, it's definitely worth it for them. Last year I know she spent more than $30 on food for the day!

The Midway Market buffet was surprisingly not horrible, given Cedar Point's reputation for bad food. Like a PP said, it was on par with a Golden Corral quality, but with fewer choices. Well worth the price compared to the offerings at the other places, since you can stuff your face for $15.99.

Somewhat disappointed with the new Rougarou coaster. Ho hum, it's no different than a dozen other floorless coasters many other parks have had for at least 15 years. IMO floorless coasters have been passe for at least 5 years now. They probably picked it up cheap on the clearance page of B&M's website.

That's what we were worried about. That the refab wasn't really going to make it worth bothering. My kids actually liked it as Mantis, so I'm sure we'll ride it a few times this year, but hopefully it'll take away some attention from the coasters we prefer to ride.

There's nothing WRONG with Rougarou per se, but I suppose I expected something better from Cedar Point. Yeah, I found out it's the same track from Mantis. I gotta say it's a vast improvement over Mantis in the man parts comfort department.

I know it's very early in the season, and what I witnessed may be an anomaly, but Rouragou seemed to somewhat of a dud in terms of ridership. It appeared to be a one-and-done ride for the visitors the day and a half I was there. Crowded at opening, but by mid-afternoon it was a walk-on, while many of the other coasters still had lines of varying length. Even Iron Dragon next door had a ten minute wait. Granted, Rouragou has a high capacity and can spit riders out quickly, but still, no lines during the busiest part of the day?? No doubt ridership will increase when the season gets into full swing.

Sounds like, at least from a line perspective, it hasn't changed from Mantis, which had been a walk-on for most of the day the past few years.

Glad it's easier on the man parts, though. Hopefully it's easier on the head as well - my wife wouldn't ride it for years because it already slammed her head side to side against the harness, because she's vertically challenged and the stand up stuff doesn't work well for her.

Alas, Rougarou has the standard headbanger over-the-shoulder restraints. Maverick's restraints have changed and are much more rider-friendly now.

Maverick's restraint has changed? I love the ride but haven't made it much of a priority over the last couple of years (even skipped it last trip) because I get so rattled by it. Will bump it up my list the next time I get to Cedar Point.
