Just wanted to give everyone an update . I decided to downgrade our 5 tickets from 7 days to 5 at the charge of $800 usd
Then I noted the different dates in mde. And the two adult cash tickets were to expire dec 2030 so when I called I asked .
the original quote was to change all 5 tickets for $1100 and to decrease to 5 days for 800.
so I ended up talking to the right cast member kept the 7 days and it only cost us $700 something.
will be making our park passes tonight and be praying..
just a warning to be careful when you start altering tickets you are getting the correct pricing..

I’m glad you were able to save some money and talk to the right person. That’s a huge difference between the two quotes!

In my situation , I have three Canadian resident tickets that expire in September of this year. I‘m hesitant to change them. What if they extend the expiry dates again ?

I have to admit It leaves a bad taste in my mouth that we literally couldn’t go across the border but now have to pay hundreds of dollars to change the dates on the tickets . It’s not like we had a choice in the matter. I’m not sure what to do about them.

If they happen to extend I will be calling back it may get me nowhere but ..
I was just worried with going at Christmas and park reservations I wanted to ensure we were able to get what we wanted .

Totally understandable. It’s too busy at Christmas to wait and see. I would have been worried too.

We are planning on going first week of December. Should I be calling Disney to figure this out now? Or wait until the summer when we will have a better idea of travel restrictions? I also have the elusive 5-day Cdn rate air miles tickets. Does it benefit us that they are flexible date tickets?

Our Canadian residency tickets are marked to expire on September 26 of this year also. Reading the fine print though , if not used they will issue a credit in that dollar value to be applied to future ticket purchase, so at least you will not lose the money value from them.
I did check though and to purchase the same ticket ( 8 day adult ticket) this fall will cost us approx $200 a ticket more , yikes!, so unless they offer another Canadian deal , which they may in the future who knows, it will cost a lot more. Rooms have gone up in price too, especially for the 50th anniversary .
We made the decision to go ahead and rebook for this September, bit of a gamble but if it works out great, it will save me money , if I have to cancel at least future credit will still be there.

So your tickets which were showing a 2030 expiry date in MDE were indeed good until 2030 (no additional money required?) I ask because the two tickets sitting in my MDE say they are good until 2030. I sure hope it stays that way.

Depends on what CM you get . The one I spoke with a couple weeks back was charging us for those two tickets to.
The one ( CM) I just changed dates from was curious as to why the 2030 date “ unusual “ he thinks maybe they were bought in 2019?( I can’t remember ) and grandfathered in ..
It was about $240 to change the tickets that had a sept 2021 expiry date. ( keep in mind that’s for Xmas week tho)
Hth..

So you ended up only having to change 3 tickets then? The ones that expired Sept 2021? And the 2 that had 2030 expiry date they just left them as is? Is that what happened?
