I hope one day soon Canadian Dollar will again be at par with US Dollar (that was about 12 years ago when CAD$1 = US$1)

I thought that was more like 25-30 years ago (or longer)........I've been paid in US Dollars for the last 15 years or so, and have always been very happy about a strong USD. Not too long ago the exchange rate use to cover my taxes, not even close these days......

Well, I'm 40 and I don't ever recall it being par. Close, but our dollar kept slipping down.

Anyhow, my dh is saying no Disney this year:confused: I'm pretty down hearted, but when I think of all those poor cast members without homes, I just would'nt feel right, so I'll concede...for now. I do hope the worst is over for them. Alas, I do not need any US money at this time.

oops, I mean 22 years ago. typo.

You know I said the same thing to DH this morning! We both remember 1:1 $'s.

If the rate keeps going and WDW offers a few more discounts maybe more Cdns will travel. Right now FL tourist industry is suffering, so let's help them out and go to WDW?! What do you think? Anyone coming with us? The more the merrier!

Oh Heck! I'll really date myself with this comment but........

I remember when the Cdn Dollar was worth more than the US! Now that's what I called Buying Power!LOL

I remember that too Scratch, even though I was only a toddler. ::yes::

It seemed odd to me that when we gave them one Canadian dollar they gave us more than one American dollar.

Now, I'm watching the rates like a hawk and trying to decide when I should shift my debt load from Disney to my Canadian line of credit.

Debt is debt, is debt. That's what makes going to Disney so wonderful!! I can see where my debt is located.

Have a super Sunday everyone!!!

(whisper) I remember too!

Looks like a pretty good time for DVC!
